Setting the SEI Data provided Comtrend DSL Router into Bridge (Modem) Mode
| Warnings: |
- By placing your DSL router in bridge mode, you are foregoing the basic firewall protection that the Comtrend router provides while in router mode.
- By placing your DSL router in bridge mode, you will be required to configure PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet) on whatever device you are directly connecting to the DSL modem. For instance if you are using a wireless router, you will need to configure it's WAN port to authenticate via PPPoE. If you are connecting a PC directly to the DSL modem, you will need to use PPPoE software on your PC to authenticate.
- By placing your DSL router in bridge mode, only 1 device may be directly attached to the DSL modem. In order to use more than 1 computer through the modem a additional router will be required which will be the 1 device plugged directly into the modem.
