| I. DIRECTORY ASSISTANCE SERVICE | ||||||||||
| A. | General | |||||||||
| 1. | The Company furnishes a service whereby customers may obtain assistance in determining telephone numbers by calling the Directory Assistance number, subject to the regulations and charges shown herein. | |||||||||
| 2. | The Company will implement Directory Assistance Services charging upon establishment of suitable facilities. | |||||||||
| 3. | Charges for Directory Assistance Service apply when customers of the company request assistance in determining telephone numbers in the local calling area in which the customer receives Local Exchange Service. Requests for telephone numbers which, though local, are not located in the Customer’s Area Code are exempt from charges. | |||||||||
| 4. | Charges for providing Directory Assistance Service for telephone numbers located outside the local calling area but within the same customer Area Code are covered in the filing for Message Toll Telephone Service. | |||||||||
| B. | Regulations | |||||||||
| A maximum of two requested telephone numbers is provided with each Directory Assistance call. | ||||||||||
| C. | Exemptions | |||||||||
| 1. | Charges for Directory Assistance Service are not applicable to calls placed from: | |||||||||
| a. | Coin (Public, Semipublic or Coin Box) telephones. | |||||||||
| b. | Hospitals | |||||||||
| c. | Customers who certify that they are unable to use a directory because of a visual or physical handicap. | |||||||||
