Dr. Rebecca J. Sanders is the College Cooperative Southeast (CCS) area learning center coordinator in Jennings County. Dr. Sanders, a lifelong resident of this area, served as the assistant learning center coordinator in Jennings County for 3 years. She replaced Jerry Steuerwald, who is now the coordinator of technical services for both the College Cooperative Southeast and South Central Indiana Education Association.
The Jennings County CCS Learning Center located in the Jennings County Public Library in North Vernon, is one of 14 CCS sites in the southeastern Indiana region, including nearby sites in Scottsburg, Madison, Versailles and Greensburg.
Dr. Sanders holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education form Ball State University, a master's degree in elementary education from IUPUI, a Ph.D in education from Walden University through its distance education program and a certificate of on-line instructions from Walden Institute. In addition to her work with CCS, Dr Sanders is also a member of the online faculty for the University of Phoenix.
She taught in Jennings County for 11 years and was employed at Muscatatuck State Developmental Center for nine years and was the training officer there. Dr Sanders was a member of the Jennings County Leadership Class of 2000, has been active in the local 4-H program as an adult leader, dog obedience trainer and project superintendent, and she has been a member of the Jennings County Players and the Jennings County Community Foundation Lilly Endowment Scholarship Committee.
