    Rules for Mailing Lists

When you join a mailing list, the computer that runs the list will automatically mail you directions for participating. Print them, keep them near at hand.
You probably have only a limited amount of disk space on your ISP to store incoming mail.
Don't use free e-mail services like Juno or Hotmail to join mailing lists.
If the mailing list has rules about how mail to the list should be addressed, follow them.
Never include your address, phone number or other personal information in a mailing list post.
When replying to a message, before you hit the Send button take a look at the message's address to check where it is going.
    Mailing List Terms
Moderated List--messages are sent to a moderator for screening before being sent to the list members.
    Unmoderated List--Messages are not screened
Digest--Messages are collected into one long email message and sent at the end of the day to members
Archive--Messages are stored in libraries on a Web site and can be accessed later
