The Hayden schoolhouse built in 1916. It was home to grades 1 through 12 until 1960 for all students of Spencer Twp. It then had grades 1 through 8 until 1968 and held grades K through 6 until 1977 when a new elementary school was built. A total of 563 persons graduated from Hayden High School from 1897 – 1960. done
