The John and Alice Wohrer home, built in 1875. Mr. Wohrer was one of the most prominent citizens of Spencer Twp. Upon his return from the Civil War, he began to acquire farm ground to add to the holdings his father already had. He soon became a progressive farmer, as well as owning a sawmill and serving as township trustee. He recognized the value of education and oversaw the organization of Hayden High School in 1894. done
