Left 1- People of All ages can take advantage of our research library. Right 1- Old Maps, School yearbooks and scrapbooks are popular items for the visitors to browse. Left 2- The 1956 Hayden Haymaker basketball team. Coach Glen Whitaker led this squad to win the Jennings County Tourney. Right 2- The Hayden baseball team from early in the 1900's. There were nine Hayden boys who played professional baseball. Left 3- Illustration of the early settlers and a Native American during the time this area was still just the Indiana territory. Right 3- A restored log cabin located in Spencer Township. A fine example of the way of like of our early settlers. Left 4- Our community got its name from the reputation of exporting so many tons of hay from the B&O Railroad stop here in town. Right 4- Henry Ringer was just one of the 200 local men who fought for the Union forces during the Civil War. Left 5- The Henry C. Bruner Family- prominent members of our community during the mid to 1800's. Right 6- Building the new railroad line to move the tracks out of the town of Hayden was done in 1900. |
