Jac-Cen-Del's baseball team picked
up two more wins in a doubleheader against Lawrenceburg
last Saturday.
In the first game the Eagles defeated the Tigers
9-3 in seven innings. Lawrenceburg struck early
scoring two runs in the top of the first inning.
Jac-Cen-Del took over the lead when they scored
four runs in their half of the first. Their first
four batters crossed home plate to give JCD the
4-2 lead.
The Eagles added two in the third inning and three
more in the fourth. Lawrenceburg scored one more
run in the seventh to make the final score 9-3.
Adam Peetz was the winning pitcher, pitching all
7 innings and giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, walking
one batter and striking
out 6.
Kyle Horan batted 2 for 3 with a run scored, Bryan
Schwanholt went 1 for 3 with 2 runs scored and
Tyler Bradshaw went 1 for 3 with one run scored.
JCD defeated Lawrenceburg 14-4 in five innings
in the second game. The Eagles scored a run in
all five innings, except the fourth. The Tigers
scored all four of their runs in the fourth.
Tyler Bradshaw was the winning pitcher, going
all 5 innings, giving up 4 runs (2 earned) on 4
hits, walking 2 batters and striking out 6.
Bryan Schwanholt batted 3 for 3 with 2 home runs,
5 RBI's and 2 runs scored. Adam Peetz went 1 for
3 with a run scored and Adam Vollmer went 1 for
2 with 2 runs scored.
The Eagles' record now stands at 7-1 on the season. |
