Bertie Sauer
Bertie Sauer, 69, of Seymour, formerly of Versailles, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2005 at the Columbus Regional Hospital. She was born at Keavy in Laurel County, KY on November 16, 1935 the daughter of Dillard and Mollie Lawson Witt. She was married to George Sauer on June 30, 1977 and he survives.
Other survivors include four daughters, Susan Smith and husband Joe of Versailles, Patti Saunders of Seymour, Donna Walls of Versailles, Sherri Stolze and husband Craig of North Vernon; one son, Charles "Chuck" Bunch and wife Janna of Hamilton, OH; one step-daughter, Charlene Tillis and husband Randy of Chicago; nineteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Witt and wife Violet of Brookville, Jerry Witt and wife Wren of Indianapolis; and one sister, Katherine Shepherd of Citra, FL. She was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Bunch and grandsons, Michael and Nicholas Huber.
Mrs. Sauer was a homemaker and a member of the Versailles Church of Christ.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, March 29, 5-8 p.m. at Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Dale Day officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles.

Brenda Ann Napper
Brenda Ann Napper, 37, of Moores Hill, died Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. She was born June 30, 1967 in Lawrenceburg the daughter of James and Marcie (Tice) Green.
Survivors include her best friend, Dale Case of Moores Hill; one son, Robbie Peelman at home; one daughter, Leann Peelman at home; her mother, Marcie Green of Aurora; three brothers, Calvin Green of Osgood, James Jr. Green of Yorkville, Paul Green of Aurora; and three sisters, Donna Hall of Brookville, Kathy McCool of Moores Hill and Mary Green of Aurora. She was preceded in death by her father, James Green.
Mrs. Napper had worked at Three Rivers Nursing Home in Cleves and was employed at the Ripley Crossing Care Center in Milan.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, March 29, 10 a.m. at Milan First Baptist Church with Pastor Harris Long officiating.
Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Moores Hill. Memorials may go to the Cancer Fund.

Charles G. Cummings
Charles G. Cummings, 87, of Milan, died Friday, March 25, 2005 at the Waters Health Care in Batesville. He was born March 7, 1918 in Ripley County the son of Lewis and Ella (Bateman) Cummings, both deceased.
Survivors include one sister, Ona Dix of River Forest, IL and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cummings was a semi driver for the Indiana State Highway and later retired from Rayner Oil Co. He was also a member of the Milan American Legion Post and the VFW Post.
Graveside funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, March 29, 5 p.m. at Mud Pike Cemetery north of Delaware with Rev. Tom Holt officiating and military rites conducted by the Milan Legion Post #235.

Glenn Fredrick Turner
Glenn Fredrick Turner, 71, of Madison, died Thursday, March 24, 2005 at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. He was born December 17, 1933 in Jefferson County the son of Glenn Turner and Daisy E. Crafton Turner, both deceased.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Turner of Madison, Bill Turner and wife Tricia of Indianapolis; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Jane and Leo Geyman of Madison, Caroline and Harold Woodard of Cincinnati, OH; one brother, George Turner; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Turner served during the Korean War in Japan in the U.S. Navy for 8 years before being honorably discharged. He was formerly employed in the maintenance department at Hanover College and was currently employed in the maintenance department at Grote Manufacturing. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #9.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, March 29, 2 p.m. at Indiana Veterans Memorial Hospital in Madison with Chaplain Bill Jennings officiating.
Burial will be in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison with full military rites conducted by the Honor Guard of Jefferson Post #9 American Legion.

Joseph E. Parsons
Joseph E. Parsons, 83, of Milan, died Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. He was born November 19, 1921 near Milan the son of Edison and Edna (Stout) Parsons, both deceased. He married Mary Grossman on June 19, 1948 and she survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Carolyn (husband John) Pieper of Milan; three grandchildren, Megan (Scott) Schaefer, Corey Pieper, Amanda Pieper; and one great-granddaughter, Sydnee Schaefer. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Bertha Hiners, Helen McKittrick, Ethel (Becky) Johnson and Ella Fleming.
Mrs. Parsons retired from the Jefferson Proving Ground in fire service and had worked for McKittrick Construction and Fred Tucker Woodworking. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of the Washington Baptist Church and the Milan American Legion Post #235.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 28, 11 a.m. at Washington Baptist Church in Elrod with Pastor Bruce Fitzsimmons officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery with military services conducted by Milan Legion Post #235. Memorials may go to the Washington Baptist Church Building Fund, Heart Fund or Alzheimer's.

Meadows Ehlers

Lorene Meadows Ehlers, 88, of Madison, formerly of Commiskey, died Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Hickory Creek of Madison. She was born October 29, 1916 in Ripley County the daughter of Andrew Jackson Meadows and Huldah Lenora Edens Ehlers, both deceased. She married Romuald John Ehlers on July 25, 1937 and he preceded her in death on January 26, 1995.
Survivors include two sons, Doyle Ehlers and wife Saundra of Madison, John E. Ehlers of Commiskey; one son-in-law, Noe Moore of Bedford; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Doris Murray of Brownsburg, Nadah Holman and Ilene King both of Versailles; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lenora Beth Ehlers; one granddaughter, Lorene Lee Moore; three sisters, Rosamond Waters, Lucille Newhart and Donneta Heacock; and two brothers, John G. Meadows and Virgil Meadows.
Mrs. Ehlers worked as a machine operator and later as a union secretary at Arvin Industries in North Vernon for 26 years. She was a member of the North Madison Christian Church and taught Sunday school from her 20's through her 60's.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, March 29, 9-11:30 a.m. at Morgan-Webster-Nay Funeral Home in Madison.
Funeral services will follow visitation at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Bob Hicks officiating.
Burial will be in the Dupont Cemetery. Memorials may go to the Stonebelt Center.

Belle Mary Miller

Lula Belle Mary Miller, 63, of Holton, died Saturday, March 26, 2005 at her residence. She was born January 20, 1942 in Ripley County the daughter of William and Delma Abplanalp Schmidt, both deceased. She married John Edward Miller on November 30, 1963 at St. John's Church in Osgood and he survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Ronald Miller of Holton, Roger Miller of Holton; one daughter, Pamela Thomas of Cross Plains; one sister, Linda Fryer of Pierceville; three brothers, Joe Schmidt of Morgantown, Lester Schmidt of Greensburg, Richard Schmidt of Moores Hill; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Schmidt.
Mrs. Miller had worked part time for Holton Water Company since 1978. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and choir in Osgood, the Golden Gate Choir in Ripley County, and the National Council of Catholic women. She was also a volunteer for Manderley Health Care Center for 16 years and was a past 4-H leader in Ripley County for 10 years.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, March 29, 4-8 p.m. at St. John's Church in Osgood.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 30, 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Lula Levi
Lula Levi, 89, of Osgood, died Friday, March 25, 2005 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born February 25, 1916 in Mt. Olivet, KY the daughter of Talt and Della Henderson Dixon, both deceased. She married Charles Delmar Levi on June 18, 1955 and he preceded her in death on August 3, 1988.
Survivors include three sons, James Pollard of Michigan, Calvin Pollard of Michigan, Charles "Chuck" Levi of Osgood; two daughters, Jo Ann Shick of Newton Falls, OH, Linda Pollard Whittaker of Batesville; seventeen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Lyttle Eugene Pollard and Jullian Dan Pollard and one daughter, Wanda Chase.
Mrs. Levi was a past employee of Am Central in Connersville where she was a "Rosie The Rivetor" in the early 1940's. She was also a past employee of Osgood Cleaners and the U.S. Shoe Factory and was a member of the Osgood Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, March 29, 11 a.m. at Neal's Funeral Home in Osgood.
Burial will be in the Perseverance Cemetery in Osgood. Memorial may go to the Osgood Christian Church.

Marie (Woodruff)
Cooley Kittle

Marie (Woodruff) Cooley Kittle, 88, of Lawrenceburg, died Friday, March 25, 2005 at Woodland Hills Care Center in Lawrenceburg. She was born June 23, 1916 in Switzerland County the daughter of Thurman Woodruff and Lela (Webster) Woodruff, both deceased. She married Charles A. Cooley on November 28, 1932 and he preceded her in death on December 28, 1949. She then married Emery M. Kittle on March 9, 1953 and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1979.
Survivors include three daughters, Virginia Curry of Ohio County, Faye Kittle of Rising Sun, Reva Peters and husband Gary of Aurora; two sons, Thurman Cooley and wife Dorothy of Osgood, Franklin Cooley and wife Pat of Kalispell, Montana; four sisters, Flossie Lock of Columbus, Geneva Sparks of Tennessee, Laura Land of Rising Sun, Falba Bradley of Aurora; one brother, Leondias Woodruff of Aurora; twenty-five grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Albert Wayne Cooley, Winston Cooley, Rev. Charles A. Cooley; one grandson, Robin Kittle; one great-grandchild, Shylo Keagan Cooley; one brother, Ernie Woodruff; one sister, Alvina Riggs; one half brother, Wilford Woodruff; one son-in-law, Gerald Curry; two step-daughters, Charolette Coleman and Margaret Criner; and three step-children.
Mrs. Kittle was a member of the Dillsboro Church of Christ and was raised in the Nazarene Church as a child.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 28, 1 p.m. at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay with Rev. Gary Shepherd officiating.
Burial was in the Jacksonville Cemetery in Center Square. Memorials may go to the Jacksonville Cemetery Fund.

Mike Bogenschutz
Mike Bogenschutz, 46, of Cincinnati, OH, died Sunday, March 27, 2005 at his residence. He was born in Covington, KY the son of Luella Bogenschutz of Indianapolis and John Bogenschutz of Batesville. He married Lois Hudepohl on July 23, 1994 in Cincinnati, OH and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Jeffrey Bogenschutz; five brothers and sisters, Teresa (Gordon) Hall of Zionsville, Tom Bogenschutz of Indianapolis, Deb (Dave) Hartman of Oldenburg, Tony Bogenschutz of Indianapolis and Judy (Mark) Wilson of Bloomington.
Mr. Bogenschutz was a graduate of Batesville High School, Purdue University and the University of Cincinnati. He was also a member of St. James Catholic Church in White Oak.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg on Wednesday, March 30 at 3:30 p.m. with Fr. Michael O'Mara officiating.
Immediately following will be a memorial reception from 5-9 p.m. at Holy Family Church cafeteria.

" Jim" Whitham

Raymond M. "Jim" Whitham, 83, of Florence, near East Enterprise, died Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. He was born May 23, 1921 in East Enterprise the son of Willard Whitham and Cora Cochran Whitham, both deceased. He married Marjorie I. (Heath) Whitham on October 23, 1943 and she survives.
Other survivors include twin daughters, Jeanette Knaus and husband Floyd of East Enterprise, Janet Sullivan and husband Richard of Westport; three sisters, Gladys Phillips of Aberdeen, Elberta Stevens and husband Dale of East Enterprise, Jean Secrest of Phoenix, AZ; six granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Warren Works of East Enterprise, Myrtle Whitham of Lawrenceburg, Millie Whitham of Phoenix, AZ; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by one son, Herbert Wayne Whitham; three sisters, Hazel A. Works, Dorothy Dickerson, Marjorie Bovard; and three brothers, Harold, Herman and William Whitham.
Mr. Whitham was a farmer and had worked for 19 years as a machinist with Randall-Textron Corporation in Vevay. He was also a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in East Enterprise.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, March 29, 5-8 p.m. at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 30, 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Scudder officiating.

(Scudder) Disbro

Sally Ann (Scudder) Disbro, 62, of Milan passed away Saturday, March 26, 2005 at her residence. She was born January 21, 1943 in Indianapolis the daughter of Lillard & Mildred (Johnson) Scudder and they preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jinks Scudder and Darryl Scudder. She was a housekeeper for Argosy Casino in Lawrenceburg.
Survivors include two daughters, Vonda Bowling and Tonya Disbro Fletcher of Milan; 3-sons, William Disbro of Carrollton, KY, Gregory Disbro and David Disbro of Milan; one sister, Shirley Scott of Vevay; seventeen grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family request memorial contributions be given to the Sally Disbro Memorial Fund. Cards will be available at the funeral home.

James J. Obermeyer
James J. Obermeyer, 82, of Batesville, died Saturday, March 19, 2004 at his Shelbyville. He was born February 17, 1923 in Oldenburg the son of George Obermeyer and Ursula Springman Obermeyer, both deceased. He married Shirley Ahr Obermeyer on November 8, 1947 at St. Clement's Church in St. Bernard, Ohio and she preceded him in death on August 10, 1986.
Survivors include four daughters, Judith Smith of Muncie, Elaine Nehrt of Columbus, Nancy Obermeyer of Bloomington, Barb Moody of Batesville; two sons, David Obermeyer of Indianapolis, Jamie Obermeyer of Dayton, Ohio; special friend, Martha Norman of Greensburg; one sister, Esther Crusemeyer of Batesville; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie and Francis "Deacon" Obermeyer.
Mr. Obermeyer was a member of the St. Louis Church, Batesville. He was a furniture decorator at the Romweber Furniture Company for 45 years before retiring in 1985.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 22, 4-7 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, Batesville. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 23, 1 p.m. at the St. Louis Church, Batesville with Rev. Daniel Mahan officiating. Burial will be in the St. Louis Cemetery, Batesville.

Phillis D. Ratledge
Phillis D. Ratledge, 86, of Vevay, died Sunday, March 20, 2005 at the Gallatin Health Care in Warsaw, Kentucky. She was born May 7, 1918 in Alberta, Canada the daughter of Amanzo Ratledge and Mabel Ratledge Ratledge, both deceased.
Survivors include her caregivers, Brian and Cleo Sublett of Warsaw, Kentucky, Andy and Janet Truitt of Vevay, Lori and Richard Scudder of Vevay, Mona and Marvin Wilson of Vevay, and Phillis and Dan McCann of Vevay. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Marjorie R. Ratledge who died on October 2, 1967 and two brothers Kenneth Ratledge and Russell Ratledge.
Ms Ratledge was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness. She was a 1936 graduate of Crestwood High School near Louisville, Kentucky. She was employed with the United Telephone Company in Vevay, Rising Sun and Lawrenceburg for 40 years working as a switchboard operator. She was a member of the Vevay Tri Kappa, attended the Ruter Chapel United Methodist Church in Vevay.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 24, 5-7 p.m. at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, Vevay. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 25, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Howard Wade officiating. Burial will be in the Vevay Cemetery.

Betty Adams
Betty C. Adams, 61, of Vevay, died Saturday, March 19, 2005 at King's Daughters' Hospital, Madison. She was born September 14, 1943 in LaGrange, Kentucky the daughter of Howard Pierce and Mary (Johnston) Davis, both deceased. She married James E. Adams on November 4, 1989 and he survives.
Other survivors include one son, Chris Johnson of Vevay; two daughters, Debra Beaty and husband, Paul of Hanover, Carol Easly and husband Raymond of Lake Elsmere, California; one stepson, James Adams of Crothersville; two stepdaughters, Patricia Carol Smith and husband Bill of Commiskey, Nancy Rae Birge and husband Terry of Madison; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; two sisters, Janice Elaine Peelman of Lancaster, Nancy Jane Paugh of Columbus; one brother, Roy Davis of Chelsea; several nieces nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Robert G. Johnson on January 4, 1989; stepfather, Everett S. Davis on October 3, 1995; and one great uncle, Kenneth Davis.
Mrs. Adams was a graduate of Switzerland County High School and attended Indiana University and Ball State University. She was employed with US Shoe in Vevay, Conn-Organ in Madison and then at Randall-Textron Corporation in Vevay. She retired from Swiss Villa Living Center, Vevay. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Madison.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 22, 5-8 p.m. at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, Vevay. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 23, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Morgan and Pastor David Wright officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Cemetery, Pleasant.

Eula Busteed
Eula Whisman Busteed 79, of Scottsburg, formerly of Versailles, IN. passed away Sunday March 20, 2005 at the University Hospital, Louisville, KY. . She was born November 4, 1925 in Osgood, Indiana the daughter of Hiriam Lee & Elizabeth Chambers Whisman and they preceded her in death.
She is also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Busteed; one daughter Charlotte Busteed; eight brothers: James Whisman, Robert Whisman, Elisha Whisman, Lee Whisman, John Whisman, Charles Whisman, Frank Whisman and Jeff Whisman; six sisters: Frances, Ann, Lula, Alice, Gladys and Emma.
Mrs. Busteed had been a Licensed Practical Nursing at Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood, IN. and also at Silver Bell Nursing Home in Versailles, IN. for many years before retiring.
Survivors include: one daughter, Barbara Diane Bryant of Cincinnati, OH; three sons, John Busteed of Versailles, IN., Ron Busteed of Scottsburg, IN., Frances Buchanan of Savannah Georgia; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; three sisters; Ruth Overton, Grace Sanders and Bertie Campbell.
Services will be at Noon Saturday March 27, 2005 at Bovard -Holt-Furst Funeral Home with Rev. Harris Long officiating.

Gayle Whitsitt Brewer
Gayle Whitsitt Brewer, 77, of Madison, died Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at King's Daughters' Hospital, Madison. He was born February 10, 1928 in Madison the son of John Brewer and Ada Smith Brewer, both deceased. He married Robena M. "Beanie" Storie on February 28, 1953 and she preceded him in death on February 25, 2005.
Survivors include two sons, Bob Brewer and wife Linda of Madison, Pat Brewer and wife Nan of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; two step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Charles Storie and wife Vivian of Madison; two sisters-in-law, Kathryn Todd of Madison, Catherine Storie of Greensburg; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mr. Brewer was a self-employed auto body repairman for over thirty-five years. He owned and operated Whitt's Auto Body in Madison. He was a member of Jefferson Post 9, of the American Legion and the National Street Rod Association. He was an Army veteran.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 20 at 1:00 p.m. at Morgan-Webster-Nay Funeral Home, Madison with Pastor David Leland. Burial was in the Springdale Cemetery, Madison.

James Curry
James Curry, 79, of Dillsboro, died Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Jewish Hospital, Louisville, Kentucky. He was born October 4, 1925 in Center Square, Indiana the son of Paul Henry Curry and Susie M. (Brett) Curry, both deceased. He married Tanya Mae (Byrs) Curry on June 10, 1950 and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Cutter and companion, Wayne Robinson of Vevay, Vicki Koons and husband Tom of Versailles; two sons, Terrance Curry and wife Anna of Union, Kentucky, Greg Curry and wife Cathy of Vevay; three brothers, Clinton Curry of Moorefield, Dale Curry of Vevay, Henry P. Curry and wife Dor of Rising Sun; one sister, Kathryn Martin of Dillsboro; twelve grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Inna Mae Caplinger who died on July 15, 1997.
Mr. Curry was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church, a member of the Vevay American Legion Post 185, Vevay VFW Post 5396, and the Cotton Township Advisory Board. He was a 1943 graduate of Vevay High School. He was an Army veteran, receiving the American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater with two Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, and the Combat Infantry Badge and Rifle Marksman Medal.

William E. Smith
William E. Smith, 50, of Versailles passed away Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison. He was born at Milan on June 14, 1954 the son of Alfred and Elfreida Meier Smith. Survivors include one daughter Megan Smith at home; one brother Kenneth Smith and his wife Jill of Lafayette; his uncle Elmer Meier of Dewberry; nieces Shannon Smith of Bloomington, Illinois and Shilo Smith of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Mr. Smith was a 1972 graduate of South Ripley High School and was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dewberry. He owned and operated T S Auto Sales in Versailles and had worked in the community as a mechanic. Mr. Smith also enjoyed NASCAR racing and IU basketball.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 21st at 11am at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dewberry with Pastor Donald Sauls officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Meagan Smith College Fund in care of the funeral home.

Clara Marie Schroder
Clara Marie Schroder, 94, of Osgood, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005 at the Manderley Nursing Home in Osgood. She was born at Rising Sun, on January 20, 1911 the daughter of Jowell and Mary L. Gentry Rice. She was married to William J. Schroder in 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1975.
Survivors include one brother Hartsell Rice of Osgood; one niece, Mary Rice of Indianapolis and one nephew, Robert Rice of Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Gentry Rice, one nephew Don Rice.
Mrs. Schroder was a social worker for the Dearborn and Ohio Counties Welfare Department and a member of the Rising Sun United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 14, 10:30 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles with Rev. Robert Rixman of the Osgood United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the St. Peters Cemetery at Finks Corner, near Osgood.

Floyd Junior Emery
Floyd Junior Emery, 75, of Dillsboro, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at the V.A. Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH. He was born February 24, 1930 in Aurora the son of Floyd O. Emery and Carrie Block, both deceased. He married Audrey Emery and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include four daughters, Cindy Monroe of Dillsboro, Mary Kissell of Lawrenceburg, Carrie Bruns of Milan, Barbie Lewis of Versailles; one son, Floyd D. Emery III of Dillsboro; one sister, Lois Vinup of Harrison, OH; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister Erma Emery; two brothers, Charles and James Emery; and one grandson, Michael Bruns.
Mr. Emery was a retired barber in Aurora. He was also a member of the Dillsboro United Methodist Church and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 12, 11 a.m. at Ulrich Filter Funeral Home in Dillsboro.
Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro. Memorials may go to the Dillsboro United Methodist Church.

" Slim" Zimmerman

Harry B. "Slim" Zimmerman, 81, of Batesville, died Thursday, March 10, 2005 at his residence. He was born February 10, 1924 in Batesville the son of Joseph Zimmerman, Sr. and Elizabeth Schroeder Zimmerman, both deceased. He married Rita (Mollaun) Zimmerman on February 8, 1964 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville and she survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Jane Jent of Crawfordsville; one son, Jack Zimmerman of Batesville; four sisters, Louise Wells of Cincinnati, OH, Jean Goodwin of Batesville, Betty Reisinger of Cincinnati, OH, Rosemary Fisher of Batesville; one brother, Joseph Zimmerman of Batesville; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Zimmerman was an auto mechanic and owner/operator of the Zimmerman Sunoco for 45 years before retiring. He was a WWII Army veteran receiving a Bronze Star and was a member of the Ripley County VFW Post #3183, the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271 and the Hillcrest Country Club.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 12 at St. Louis Catholic Church with Rev. Daniel Mahan officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Ripley County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3183 and by the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271 of Batesville.

(Sigmon) Storie

Hilda M. (Sigmon) Storie, 85, of Vevay near Moorefield, died Friday, March 11, 2005 at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. She was born April 24, 1919 in Switzerland County the daughter of Marion J. Sigmon and Zada Cotton Sigmon, both deceased. She married Roy D. Storie on March 3, 1938 and he preceded her in death on January 6, 1995.
Survivors include brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles Fred Storie and wife Vivian of Madison, Gayle "Whitt" Brewer of Madison, Catherine Storie of Greensburg, Kathryn Todd of Madison; her caregivers and cousins, Walter and Helen Cotton of Vevay, Margaret and Al Spiry of Cincinnati, OH; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives.
Mrs. Storie was a 1937 graduate of Vevay High School and was also a homemaker.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 14 at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay with Rev. Ronald Sandidge officiating.

Janet M. Hartman, 38, of Morris, died Saturday, March 12, 2005 at her residence. She was born October 20, 1966 in Greensburg the daughter of Thomas Lecher and Barbara Simmermeyer Lecher and they survive in St. Mary's. She married Tim Hartman on July 12, 1986 at St. Mary's of the Rock Church and he survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Bridget Hartman and Maria Hartman both of Morris; one son, Andrew Hartman of Morris; three sisters, Shirley Stenger of Brookville, Valerie Caudill of Batesville, Wendy Weisenbach of Batesville; and seven brothers, Gary Lecher, Rick Lecher, Mike Lecher, Sam Lecher, Frank Lecher, Tony Lecher and Marvin Lecher all of Batesville.
Mrs. Hartman was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's of the Rock Church.

Leo J. Gehring
Leo J. Gehring, 89, of Oldenburg, died Saturday, March 12, 2005 at his residence. He was born December 4, 1915 in Oldenburg the son of Henry Gehring and Barbara Bedel Gehring, both deceased. He married Gertrude Lamping Gehring on October 25, 1941 at St. Maurice Church and she preceded him in death on January 15, 2005.
Survivors include three daughters Jeanette Lamping of Oldenburg, Barb Nobbe of Batesville, Sharon Steinfort of Batesville; one son, Steve Gehring of Batesville; one sister, Emma Blitz of Batesville; one brother, Emil Gehring; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Alice Sell; three sisters, Alvina Wenning, Louise Merkel, Evelyn Allgeier; and three brothers, Ambrose Gehring, Allan Gehring and Collis Gehring.
Mr. Gehring was a mechanic for Oldenburg Garage for 45 years before retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Tri-County Conservation Club, Holy Family Church in Oldenburg and was a former member of the Eureka Band.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, March 15, 9-10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg.
Funeral services will follow visitation at the church at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Turnbull, O.F.M. officiating.

Mary Carmen Jordan
Mary Carmen Jordan, 76, of Kokomo, died Saturday, March 5, 2005 at Waterford Place Health Campus. She was born August 10, 1928 in Tipton County the daughter of Floyd and Edna (Busching) Raney. On August 25, 1946 she married John H. Jordan. He preceded her in death February 4, 2005.
Mrs. Jordan was a 1946 graduate of Forest High School. She retired as a cook at Western High School after 23 years of service. She was also a homemaker and a member of the Main Street Christian Church in Russiaville.
She is survived by three sons, Bob Jordan and wife Gayle of Atlanta, Bill Jordan and wife Cindy of Adel, IO, David Jordan of Forest; one daughter, Diane Salmon and husband Steve of Frankfort; four brothers, Glen Raney and wife Peggy of New Castle, Estol "Chub" Raney and wife Barbara of Forest, Nelson Raney and wife Ramona of Kokomo, Loren "Pete" Raney and wife Sue of Cutler; one sister, Waunitta Bunnell and husband Delmer of Warsaw; twelve grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 9 at Stout & Son Funeral Home in Russiaville with Rev. Tom Cox officiating.

Robert L. Williams
Robert L. Williams, 73, of Osgood, passed away Friday, March 11, 2005 at his home. He was born at Morrow, Ohio on April 24, 1931 the son of Clem and Mary Blankenship Williams. He was married to Wanda Riddle on February 14, 1990 and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Richard Williams and wife Terri of Morningview, KY; one daughter, Jeanine Crandall and husband Craig of Milan; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Hoot Williams and Clint Conway; and two brothers, Ted and Lester Williams.
Mr. Williams was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the 101st Airborne as a paratrooper. He was a retired truck driver having logged more than four million accident free miles over the course of 43 years. He was also a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church, the Milan VFW and the Boone Union Masonic Lodge in Union, KY.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, March 15, 10 a.m. until time of services at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
Funeral services will follow Masonic services at the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Tuesday with Rev. David Shivers of the Hopewell Baptist Church officiating.

Samuel M. Raney
Samuel M. Raney, 99, of Versailles, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. He was born in the Tanglewood community near Versailles on December 22, 1905 the son of Robert Newton and Mary Alice Jackson Raney. He was married to Emma Melba Robertson on June 22, 1929 and she preceded him in death on September 4, 1994.
Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Galyean and husband Robert of Richmond, Doris Kurtz and husband August "Bud" Kurtz of Angola, Barbara Kemp and husband William Kemp of Osgood; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his son, Carl; four brothers, Glen, Floyd, Jack and Hershel Raney; and five sisters, Ethel Sheets, Edith Raney, Agnes Richmond and Madaline Moody and one infant sister.
Mr. Raney was a 1923 graduate of Versailles High School and graduated from the Fort Wayne School of Business. He was a 35 year employee of Coca Cola where he managed a distribution center in Angola. He was also an Army veteran of WWII, was a member of the Tanglewood Baptist Church, a member and past commander of the Versailles American Legion, was a 70 year member of the Masonic Lodge having belonged in Angola and was currently a member of the Versailles lodge.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 13 at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Becky Pohle of the Tanglewood Baptist Church officiating.
Burial was in the Tanglewood Cemetery in Versailles with military graveside rites conducted by the Versailles American Legion. The Versailles Masonic Lodge also conducted services Saturday at the funeral home.

Wilma Kay (Sissy) Bonfer, 57, of Milan, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle. She was born November 8, 1947 in Greensburg the daughter of William Ray and Virginia Catherine (Burkhead) Shrader. She married Herman L. Bonfer on October 19, 1968 and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1999.
Survivors include one son, Gregory (Kristine) Bonfer of Milan; one daughter, Charlene Fay Bonfer of New Castle; her mother, Virginia Shrader of New Castle; two brothers, Bobbie Shrader of St. Paul, Ray Shrader of Columbus; one sister, Fay Fairchild of New Castle; one granddaughter, Danielle; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, William Ray Shrader.
Mrs. Bonfer was a former employee of the U.S. Shoe Company in Osgood. She was also a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Stumpke's Corner.

Ardith (Art) Dobson, 83, of Dillsboro, died Friday, March 4, 2005 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. He was born August 6, 1921 in Vest, KY the son of Pearson Dobson and Martha Ann Noble, both deceased. He married Alma Ritchie and she survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Everett Ardell Dobson of Middletown, OH, Ronald Lane Dobson of Moores Hill, Forest Darrell Dobson of Aurora; two daughters, Barbara Cutter of Dillsboro, Lisa Johnson of Aurora; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Callaway, Shafter, Alonza, Malcolm, William, Sherman and Arvil Dobson and four sisters, Minta Disney, Virgie Russell, Lula Raft and Lucinda Bolen.
Mr. Dobson retired from Texas Gas Transmission Corp. after 35 years. He was a lifetime member of the Northcutt Laaker American Legion Post #292 in Dillsboro and the VFW of Aurora. He also served in the Army from July 2, 1941 to October 7, 1945.

Charles Edward
" Bill" Adams

Charles Edward "Bill" Adams, 77, of Vevay near Booksburg, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. He was born September 17, 1927 in Wheaton, IL the son of Charles Adams and Louise (Lanham) Adams-Heath, both deceased. He married Patsy Lou (Green) on September 28, 1951 and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Charles N. Adams of Brooksburg, Douglas W. Adams and wife Fran of Bordentown, NJ; two grandchildren, Sarah Lin Adams and Nathan Travis Adams; two step-grandchildren, David and Randall Stevenson; one great-grandchild, Logen Chase Cassidy; five step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Clyde Heath; one brother, James Heath; three step-brothers, Carroll E. "Boo" Heath, Everett and Ralph Heath; and one sister, Mary Virginia Giesler.
Mr. Adams was inducted into the U.S. Navy on April 2, 1945 rising to the rank of Seaman First Class. He served during WWII and was honorably discharged on August 26, 1946 receiving the World War II Victory Medal and the American Area Campaign Medal. He was a master carpenter and furniture maker all of his life. He worked early in life as an auto body repairman for Middleton's Garage in Vevay, later at Perk's Garage in Madison and then at Standerford's Ford Garage in Madison. He was then a welder for Williamson Heater in Madison and helped his mother with Heath's Grocery and General Store in Brooksburg. He was also a member of the Brooksburg Baptist Church, the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 6, 2 p.m. at Brooksburg Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Mundy officiating.

Dorothy M. Bergman
Dorothy M. Bergman, 83, of Batesville, died Thursday, March 3, 2005 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born December 13, 1921 in Napoleon the daughter of Daniel Engel and Ida (Strobel) Engel, both deceased. She married William F. Bergman on June 11, 1949 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Napoleon and she preceded him in death on July 31, 2001.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald W. (Elaine) Bergman of Sunman, Dennis E. (Carol) Bergman of Batesville; one sister, Martha Bultman of Napoleon; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Straber and Sarah Grow; three brothers, Cloyd, Ralph and Roy Engel; and one granddaughter, Lynn Ann Bergman.
Mrs. Bergman was a homemaker. She was also a member of the Adams Lutheran Church and the Adams Ladies Aid.

Dwight H. Shadday, 75, of Vevay, died Saturday, March 5, 2005 at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. He was born May 17, 1929 in Bennington the son of Julian Shadday and Jeanette Konkle Shadday, both deceased. He married Ruth A. (Hinman) Shadday on December 27, 1959 and she survives.
Other survivors include one niece, Tandra Hinman of Virginia; one brother, Bill Shadday and wife Doris of Madison; one sister, Mary Jo Brown of Vevay; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul Vernon of Madison, Chuck Manuel of Bennington, Alice Hinman of Versailles, Leo Hammond of Florence, Vicky Hinman of Florence; one aunt, Juanita Brindley of Seymour; one uncle, Ernie Konkle of Vevay; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Freda Coy, Delores Shadday, Lavonue Bonnie Vernon and one brother, Robert Earl Shadday.
Mr. Shadday attended Vevay High School and was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1951 serving in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1953. He was employed with the U.S. Shoe Corporation in Vevay and Madison. He retired in 1999 as maintenance supervisor with 39 years of service. He was also a farmer and an auto body repairman working for several shops in Madison and Vevay.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, March 8, 4-8 p.m. at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay and also Wednesday, March 9, 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

She was born at Benham on June 21, 1912 the daughter of Chancie and Julia Whitaker Gelvin. She was married to Stanley Tingle on October 14, 1937 and he preceded her in death in 1970.
Survivors include one daughter, Ruth Thornton and husband Delza of Milan; two sons, Alton Tingle and Floyd Tingle and wife Loydene all of Benham; one granddaughter; six step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Troy Gelvin of Dayton; and one sister, Ramona Farrell of Versailles. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Ralph; one grandson, Michael Creigmile; one daughter-in-law, Bernice Tingle; three sisters, Dorothy Alexander, Mamie Elston and Florence Pettit; and one brother, Louis Gelvin.
Mrs. Tingle was a homemaker and a member of the Concord Wesleyan Church.

Sr. Ann Cyril Hermann, OSF
Sr. Ann Cyril Hermann, OSF, 92, of Oldenburg, died Sunday, March 6, 2005 at her residence. She was born January 11, 1913 in Bernard, Ohio the daughter of George Hermann and Veronica Goldschmidt Hermann, both deceased.
Survivors include one sister-in-law, Catherine Hermann of Cincinnati. Three brothers preceded her in death, Rev. Cyril Hermann, OFM, Ralph Hermann, and Alvin Hermann.
She entered the convent on May 3, 1936 and made her final vows on January 6, 1942. She was a teacher and taught in many schools in Indiana, Ohio, Missouri and Illinois. She retired in 1984.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 9, 1-3 p.m. at the Sisters of St. Francis Motherhouse Chapel. Funeral services will be held the same day at 3 p.m. with Rev. Carl Hawver, OFM officiating. Burial will be in the St. Francis Cemetery.

Dreiling, O.S.F.

Sr. M. Gerard Dreiling, O.S.F., 96, of Oldenburg, died Thursday, March 3, 2005 at the Srs. of St. Francis Convent in Oldenburg. She was born May 3, 1908 in Cincinnati, OH the daughter of George Dreiling, Sr. and Mary Eva Jesse Dreiling, both deceased.
Survivors include one sister, Thecia Strong of Ontario, CA; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Dreiling and Jeanne Dreiling both of Cincinnati, OH; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Sylvester, David and George Dreiling, Jr.
Sr. Dreiling entered the convent on April 17, 1933 and she made her final vows on January 6, 1939. She taught at schools in Ohio, Indiana and Missouri and retired to the Motherhouse in 1987.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 7, 3 p.m. at the Srs. of St. Francis Motherhouse Chapel with Rev. Carl Hawver, O.F.M. officiating.
Burial was in the St. Francis Cemetery. Memorials may go to the Srs. of St. Francis Convent.

Virginia B. Sheckels
Virginia B. Sheckels, 77, of Milan, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born January 25, 1928 in Cincinnati, OH the daughter of Edgar D. and Odella (Mestmacher) Laws, both deceased. She married William L. Sheckels on September 3, 1949 and he survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Timothy (Laura) Sheckels of Harrison, OH, Theodore (Constance) Sheckels of Aurora, Thomas (Anne Marie) Sheckels of Cincinnati; one daughter, Odella (Samuel) Boehringer of Cincinnati; and eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Edgar Laws.
Mrs. Sheckels was a homemaker. She was a member of the Milan First Baptist Church, the Ripley County Homemakers Club and was a former member of the Eastern Star in Cincinnati.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 7, 10:30 a.m. at the Milan First Baptist Church with Pastor Harris Long officiating.
Burial was in the Arlington Memorial Cemetery in Cincinnati. Memorials may go to the Milan First Baptist Church or the Cancer Fund.

Skylar Bonnlander

Abigail Skylar Bonnlander, infant, died Saturday, January 26, 2005 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was the child of David Bonnlander and Amanda Grigsby of Milan.
Survivors include paternal grandparents, Tom and Teresa Bonnlander of Moores Hill; paternal great-grandparents, Ron and Janet Bonnlander of Milan; paternal great-grandparents, Lela and Jim Morgan of Milford, OH; great-great-grandmother, Ruth Hess of Cincinnati, OH; maternal grandparents, Herb and Ann Ruggles of Versailles; and maternal grandparents, Willie and Janey Grigsby of Versailles.
Graveside funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, March 1 at 1 p.m. at Craven Cemetery in Milan with Rev. Garland Rudd officiating.

Ida M. Franklin
Ida M. Franklin, 92, of the Hopewell community died Friday, February 25, 2005 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was born near Dabney on April 30, 1912 the daughter of Abraham and Maude Jenkins Barricklow. She was married to Floyd Franklin on January 28, 1931 and he preceded her in death on September 20, 1990.
Survivors include four sons, Allen Franklin and wife Louella, Gene Franklin and wife Shirley, Frank Franklin and wife Myrtie all of Holton, Ben Franklin and wife Henrietta of Versailles; three daughters, Leota Conover of Holton, Eva Mae Wagoner and husband Charles of Lake Placid, FL, Rowena Sanders and husband Robert of Murray, KY; twenty-eight grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law Egbert Conover; granddaughter Lisa Franklin; ten brothers, Ben, Henry, John, Joe, Louis, George, Cecil, Jim, Forest and Tom Barricklow; sisters Marjorie Burns, Daisy Williams and Althea Pickett.
Mrs. Franklin attended the Dabney School and was a 1930 graduate of Holton High School. She was a member of the Dabney Baptist Church and attended the Hopewell Baptist Church. She had worked at Muscatatuck and also had worked as a cook at the Holton School.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 28, 1 p.m. at the Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. David Shivers officiating.

Kathleen Hoskins, 56, of Milan, died Thursday, February 24, 2005 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born January 12, 1949 in Milan the daughter of George and Hazel L. (Fuller) Cornett and they survive.
Survivors include two daughters, Angela Strunk of Milan, Leann Ollman of Milan; three sisters, Maxine Meyers of Tullahoma, TN, Bev Kohlmeier of Milan, Kim Gillespie of Lawrenceburg; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hoskins was a repair controller for DHL Express and was a member of the Milan First Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 27, 2:30 p.m. at Milan First Baptist Church with Pastor Harris Long officiating.
Burial was in the St. Paul Methodist Church Cemetery south of Sunman. Memorials may go to the donor's choice.

Lester Crowell
Lester Crowell, 88, of Napoleon, died Friday, February 25, 2005 at Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. He was born September 16, 1916 in Ripley County the son of Elmer and Clara Bultman Crowell, both deceased. He married Bernalda Sloan on June 6, 1980 and she survives at home.
Other survivors include two sons, Eugene Crowell of Batesville, Stephen Crowell of Greensburg; two step sons, Boyd Vanover of Batesville, David R. Vanover of Osgood; two daughters, Dianne Linkmeyer of Batesville, Sandra Comer of Osgood; one step daughter, Bernadine Palmer of Sunman; one sister, Irene Hertenstein of Tempe, AZ; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Brunner and Ellen Smith; four brothers, Aaron, Warren, Monroe and Pete Crowell; and one grandson.
Mr. Crowell was the past owner and operator of Crowell Trucking. He was also a past farmer and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Napoleon.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 28, 10 a.m. at Neal's Funeral Home in Osgood.
Burial was in the Little Memory Cemetery in Sunman. Memorials may go to the Napoleon Fire Department or the American Heart Association.

Martha Henritta
Elizabeth Dieckmann

Martha Henritta Elizabeth Dieckmann, 89, of Batesville, died Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at Evergreen Retirement Center in Cincinnati, OH. She was born August 15, 1915 in Batesville the daughter of Walter and Clara (Narwold) Westerman, both deceased. She married Walter W. Dieckmann and he preceded her in death on July 10, 1986.
Survivors include one daughter, Glenda (Roger) Schorr of Cincinnati, OH; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Schorr of Cincinnati, OH; one grandson, Rolf Schorr of Cincinnati, OH; two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Christopher Schorr; and one sister, Viola Gutzwiller of Mesa, AZ. She was preceded in death by one son, Donald Dieckmann and one brother, Wallace Westerman.
Mrs. Dieckmann was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ, Order of Eastern Star Chapter #348 in Batesville and the F.O.P.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 26, 11 a.m. at St. John United Church of Christ in Batesville with Rev. David Johnston officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials may go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Martha Marie Holman
Martha Marie Holman, 88, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at the IOOF Home in Greensburg. She was born November 13, 1916 in Ripley County the daughter of Joseph and Mary B. (Reibel) Effinger, both deceased. She married John M. Holman on February 26, 1938 and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1960.
Survivors include one son, David C. (Dolly) Holman of Greensburg; two daughters, Patricia Ann Fife of Yorktown, Veronica June Holman of Greensburg; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Edward, Hugo, Louis, Carl and William Effinger.
Mrs. Holman was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Greensburg Senior Citizens.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 26 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greensburg with Msgr. Harold Knueven officiating.
Burial was in the St. Magdalene Catholic Cemetery in Madison. Memorials may go to the Decatur County Hospice.

" Mike" Ricketts

Michael Lee "Mike" Ricketts, 48, of Vevay, died Saturday, February 26, 2005 at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. He was born April 4, 1956 in Madison the son of Joe Edward Ricketts and Mary Anne Ford Ricketts and they survive in Vevay.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Ryan Ricketts and Dustin Edward Ricketts both of Vevay; one daughter, Carlee Michelle Ricketts of Vevay; one brother, Randy Ricketts and wife Pam of Vevay; one sister, Jennifer Scudder and husband Kevin of Vevay; four nieces and nephews; and two great nieces. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry G. and Elsie Ford and Leonard and Alma Ricketts.
Mr. Ricketts was a 1974 graduate of Switzerland County High School. He was a farmer and a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #185, the Vevay Men's Auxiliary Post #5396 and the Brushy Fork Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 1, 5-8 p.m. at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 2, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Howard Wade and Rev. Ronald Sandidge officiating.

Robena M. "Beanie" (Storie) Brewer
Robena M. "Beanie" (Storie) Brewer, 72, of Madison, died Friday, February 25, 2005 at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. She was born December 9, 1932 in Switzerland County the daughter of James Storie and Dorothy (Stewart) Storie, both deceased. She married Gayle "Whitt" Brewer on February 28, 1953 and he survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Robert "Bob" Brewer and wife Linda of Madison, Pat Brewer and wife Nan of Mt. Vernon, OH; one brother, Charles "Fred" Storie and wife Vivian of Madison; three sisters-in-law, Hilda Storie of Moorefield, Katheryn Todd of Madison, Catherine Storie of Greensburg, two step-grandchildren, Charles Griswold and Kerri James; two step-great-grandchildren, Courtney and Damien Griswold; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy, Lewis and Elbert V. Storie.
Mrs. Brewer was a graduate of Vevay High School in 1950. She was employed first with Dr. Shuck as a medical assistant for ten years. She was later employed with King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison as a ward clerk for 23 years. She was also a member of the West Madison United Methodist Church where she served on several committees.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, March 1, 1 p.m. at Morgan-Webster-Nay Funeral Home in Madison with Pastor David Leland officiating.
Burial was in the Springdale Cemetery in Madison. Memorials may go to the West Madison United Methodist Church.

Roberta Carolyn "Tootie" Haag
Roberta Carolyn "Tootie" Haag, 92, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2005 at her home. She was born in Lawrenceburg the daughter of George and Caroline Miller.
She was the wife of Robert Haag, who preceded her in death and the mother of Wm. (wife Sonja) Haag and Carolyn Sue (husband Steve) Karsteter all of Lawrenceburg. Other survivors include a brother, Robert Miller of Memphis; two sisters, Mary Lou Getz of Madison, Virginia Burnett of Lawrenceburg; grandchildren, Robbie Haag, Kim Haag, Vince Karsteter and Chris Karsteter of Lawrenceburg, Eric Karsteter of Milan; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Haag was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greendale, Internationally Yours, American Baptist Women and a twenty-five year member of Eastern Star.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 28 at the First Baptist Church in Greendale.
Memorials may be made to the Greendale Rescue Unit or the First Baptist Church of Greendale.

Method, O.S.F.

Sr. Lucille Method, O.S.F., 74, of Oldenburg, passed away Monday, February 21, 2005 at Srs. of St. Francis Infirmary in Oldenburg. She was born April 18, 1930 in Oshkosh, WI the daughter of John Method and Lucille Reiland Method, both deceased.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary McNamara of Indianapolis, Margaret Hillsamer of Clarksville, AR and two brothers, Bill Method of Elkhart and Pete Method of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by one brother, Hugh Method.
Sr. Method entered the convent on September 8, 1948 and she made her final vows on August 12, 1954. She was a teacher at various schools in Ohio, Missouri and Indiana. She retired to the Motherhouse in 1998.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 25 at the Srs. of St. Francis Motherhouse Chapel with Rev. Carl Hawver, O.F.M. officiating.
Burial was in the St. Francis Cemetery. Memorials may go to the Srs. of St. Francis Convent.

Velma Lee Browning
Velma Lee Browning, 75, of Aurora, died Saturday, February 26, 2005 at her residence. She was born April 14, 1929 in Switzerland County the daughter of George William and Elsie Jeanette (Browning) Caseltine, both deceased.
Survivors include two brothers, George Caseltine of Aurora, Robert Caseltine of Moores Hill; one sister, Betty Saunders of Louisiana; several nieces and nephews; and friends, Robin, Kent, Tiffany and Heather Taylor.
Mrs. Browning was a former employee of Walker's Laundry at Aurora, the King Hotel at Lawrenceburg and Sun Bright Cleaners at Lawrenceburg. She was also a member of the Hemline Chapel at Lawrenceburg.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 28, 1 p.m. at Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home in Moores Hill with Rev. Tommy Beatley and Rev. Sam Chizmar officiating.
Burial was in the Union Cemetery south of Moores Hill. Memorials may go to the Dearborn County Hospice.
