Edward L.
" Peanut" Skirvin, Sr.
Edward L. "Peanut" Skirvin, Sr., 76, of Vevay, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2005 at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. He was born October 16, 1928 in Bloomington the son of Roland Skirvin and the late Martha (Fielder) Lockwood. On April 5, 1970 he married Vivian Louise (Dillingham) Skirvin in Indianapolis.
He was a truck driver for Smith Transfer in Indianapolis and was a member of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Anast-May of Long Beach, Brenda Rickett of Mooresville, Sandy Taylor of Avon; two sons, Edward L. Skirvin, Jr. of Greenwood, Allen Dean Skirvin of Plainfield; two sisters, Joanne Pierce of Piqua, OH, Wilma Hughes of Tampa, FL; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Herb and Martha (Fielder) Lockwood.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 25, 11 a.m. at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay with Rev. Ronald Sandidge officiating.
Burial was in the Vevay Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Vevay American Legion and the Vevay VFW.

Edwin Joseph Retzner
Edwin Joseph Retzner, 89, of Osgood, died Sunday, April 24, 2005 at Manderley Health Care Center, Osgood. He was born June 15, 1915 in Ripley County the son of Edward and Celia Brunsman Retzner, both deceased. He married Emma M. Homan on October 8, 1954 and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Liana Retzner of Bloomington; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Retzner of Batesville and Alvin Retzner of Sunman. Two brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Retzner was an army veteran of WWII. He worked for 30 years for Indiana State Dairy Association associated with Purdue University. He was also a member of the St. John's Catholic Church, Osgood, a member of the Wm. A. Gilland American Legion Post #267, Osgood and a member of the Knights of St. John's, Batesville.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 27 from 5-8 p.m. at Neal's Funeral Home, Osgood with rosary at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 28 at 10 a.m. at St. John's Church in Osgood. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to mass or Rescue 69.

Evelyn Ann Hartman
Evelyn Ann Hartman, 76, of Batesville, died Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at her residence. She was born April 4, 1929 in Batesville the daughter of Louis and Edna (Hoene) Walterman, both deceased. She married Paul Hartman in February of 1968 at St. Louis Church in Batesville and he survives. She was a homemaker.
Other survivors include one daughter, Melanie Hartman of Batesville and one son, Gary (Judy) Nobbe of Lake Forest, CA. She was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy and Gary Nobbe; two sisters, Lt. Col. Darlene Darcy and infant Pauline Walterman; and one brother, Carl Walterman.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 22, 10 a.m. at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville with Rev. David Johnston officiating.
Burial was in the St. Louis Church Cemetery. Memorials may go to the Phi Beta Psi Sorority for Cancer Research or St. Louis Cemetery Memorial Tree Fund.

Harry F. Wilhelmy
Harry F. Wilhelmy 85, of Sunman, died Sunday, April 17, 2005 at his residence. He was born November 15, 1919 in Cincinnati, OH the son of Harry A. and Carrie Etzkorn Wilhelmy, both deceased. He was a retired maintenance worker.
Survivors include a sister and brother and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, April 23 at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Cemetery in Sunman with Duane A. Loos officiating.

Ida Hutson
Ida Hutson, 90, of Hartford City, died Saturday, April 23, 2005 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She was born August 25, 1914 near Ballstown the daughter of Conner and Rosie Bultman Hutson, both deceased.
Survivors include one brother, Cecil Hutson of Richmond; one sister-in-law, Doris Hutson of Penntown; one brother-in-law, Bill Schocke of Hartford City; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Hazel Hildebrand, Elvera Bedel, Ann Brown and Ruth Ellen Schocke and four brothers, Calvin Hutson, Ralph Hutson, Milton Hutson and Harold Hutson.
Mrs. Hutson was a housekeeper for families including being employed for over 25 years in Oxford, OH.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, April 26, 4-8 p.m. (slow time) at Cook Funeral Home in Brookville and also Wednesday, April 27, 9:30 a.m. until time of services at St. John United Church of Christ in Penntown.
Funeral services will follow visitation on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the church with Craig Amlin Interim Pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Old Salem Cemetery near Ballstown. Memorials may go to the St. John United Church of Christ or the American Cancer Society.

Reinecke Johnston
James Reinecke Johnston, 89, of Batesville, formerly of Indianapolis, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at Ripley Crossing Health Center in Milan. He was born August 2, 1915 in Indianapolis the son of James Garfield and Bertha (Reinecke) Johnston, both deceased. He married Gladys Anderson on November 6, 1940 at Union Chapel Methodist Church in Indianapolis and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, David Johnston (Bonnie) of Batesville; one daughter, Julia Johnston of Carmel; and three grandchildren, Holly Kuykendall, Rachel Johnston and Andrew Johnston.
Mr. Johnston was the retired secretary-treasurer at American Income Life Insurance Company. He was recognized as a National Friend of 4-H and was active at St. Peter United Church of Christ in Carmel.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 25, 2 p.m. at St. Peter United Church of Christ in Carmel with Rev. Larry Kleiman officiating.
Burial was in the Union Chapel Cemetery in Indianapolis. Memorials may go to the St. John United Church of Christ in Batesville or to Ripley Crossing in Milan.

Clements Scott
Maurine Clements Scott, 91, of Hilton Head Island, SC, formerly of Vevay, Fort Wayne and Fairfax, VA, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at Hilton Head Regional Health Center in Hilton Head Island.
She was born February 3, 1914 in Vevay the daughter of the late Thomas Clements and the late Laura Leep Clements. She married Marion W. Scott on December 24, 1935 in Shelby County and he preceded her in death on May 11, 1980.
She was a seamstress working for L.S. Ayres Store in Fort Wayne, retiring in 1984 after 26 years of service. She also had worked for Frank's Department Store and Fishmans Dress Shop in Fort Wayne. She was a 1932 graduate of Vevay High School, a member of the Vevay Tri Kappa Sorority and a charter member of the Christ Methodist Church in Fort Wayne.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan Burgett and husband Claude of Hilton Head Island, SC; one daughter-in-law, Mary Scott of Fort Wayne; three granddaughters; and two great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by one son, James Thomas Scott; one brother, Robert Thomas Clements; and one grandson, James Michael Scott.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 24, 2 p.m. by Mr. Logan Flint at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay.

Ronald Allen, 69, of Sunman, died Friday, April 22, 2005 at University Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. He was born December 10, 1935 in Clay County, KY the son of Walter Allen and Nancy King Allen, both deceased.
Survivors include his former wife, Nancy Allen of Batesville; his fiancÈe, Donna Harrelson of Greensburg; one daughter, Lisa Fullenkamp of Batesville; two sons, Gary Allen of Aurora, Brian Allen of San Francisco, CA; three sisters, Marie Estridge of Huntsville, AL, Marjorie Ford of Tampa, FL, Doris Wright of Tampa, FL; three brothers, Kenard Allen of Goshen, OH, Donald Allen of Brookville, Wilbur Allen of Brookville; and five grandchildren.
Mr. Allen was a tool and die maker. He worked for BCA in Greensburg for 10 years, Bohn Aluminum for 15 years and General Electric for 14 years before retiring in 1999. He was also an Army veteran and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Batesville Ward.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 27, 3-7 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville.

Enid Schumacher
Zelma Enid Schumacher, 98, of Lawrenceburg, died Saturday, April 23, 2005 at Woodland Hills Care Center in Lawrenceburg. She was born August 8, 1906 in Lawrenceburg the daughter of George Seitz and Lucy Glissman, both deceased. She married Alfred Schumacher and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Judith Hamby of Aurora; one sister, Shirley Miller of Lawrenceburg; two grandchildren, Dennis Hamby and Angela Hamby; and two great-grandchildren, Lauren Hamby and Nicholas Hamby. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Winona Stutes and Irene Gay and one brother, Lee Seitz.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 27, 12-2 p.m. EDT at Filter Funeral Home in Aurora.
Funeral services will follow visitation at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Aurora.

Aaron C. Miller, 83, of New Alsace, died Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at his residence. He was born February 27, 1922 in Batesville the son of Edward and Helena Sand Miller, both deceased. He married Edna Rose and she survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Sharon Shackelford of Greenwood, Marlene Wullenweber and Jayne Weber both of St. Leon; three sons, Eddie Miller of Danville, Mike Miller of Fairfield, OH, Donnie Miller of Milan; five sisters, Darlene Phillips of New Alsace, Ruth Back of St. Peters, Phyllis Carson and Marie Zinser both of Sunman, Sally Thie of St. Petersburg, FL; fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Miller was retired from the New York Central Railroad. He was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church in New Alsace.
Funeral mass was held Saturday, April 16, 12:30 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Harold W. Rightor II officiating.
Burial was in the St. Paul Cemetery. Memorials may go to the St. Paul School or the Sunman Volunteer Fire Department.

Audrey Lou (Poling) Baugh, 69, of Versailles, died Saturday, April 16, 2005 at her residence. She was born February 8, 1936 in Switzerland County the daughter of Roy Poling and Naomi A. (Bliton) Poling, both deceased. She married Jack E. Baugh on May 28, 1955 and he survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Sherrilea Baugh of Bethpage, TN; one son, Greg A. Baugh and wife Christina of North Vernon; two sisters, Verna Mae Schwagmeier of Benham, Kay Smith of Bennington; six brothers, Bill Poling and wife Kitty of Madison, Joe Poling and wife Debbie of Dandridge, TN, Richard Poling and wife Carolyn of Butlerville, Jim Poling and wife Carol of Canaan, Max Poling and wife Joyce of Canaan, Doug Poling of Jeffersonville; two aunts, Georgia Brown of Cross Plains, Maxine Wilson of Osgood; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother, Donald Poling.
Mrs. Baugh was a 1954 graduate of Cross Plains High School. She retired after 31 years at South Ripley School Corporation in Versailles as the bookstore manager. She was also a member of the Benham United Methodist Church, the Benham Blue Belles Homemakers Club, the Starlighters Square Dancers in Batesville and the Card Club.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, April 19, 12 noon (slow time) until time of services at Benham United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will follow visitation at the church at 1 p.m. with Rev. Phil Meyer officiating.

Rosella Adams
Rosella Adams, 87, of Dunnellon, FL, formerly of Batesville, died Thursday, April 14, 2005 at Brentwood Health Center in LeCanto, FL. She was born January 6, 1918 in Letcher County, KY the daughter of Benjamine and Dora (Collins) Benge, both deceased. She married Oceanus Adams on October 9, 1936 and he preceded her in death on October 28, 1977. She retired from Hill-Rom.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice Jean Knight of Lynchburg, OH, Polly Ann Folton of Dunnellon, FL; one brother, Joe Benge of Charlestown; one sister, Patricia Morgan of Charlestown; thirteen grandchildren; and several great and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Roger Adams; two infant children; and two brothers, Jack and Roy Benge.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, April 19, 11 a.m. at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville with Rev. Thomas Fehrman officiating.

Betty (Harvey) Burlin, 73, of Aurora, died March 7, 2005 at Woodland Hills Care Center in Lawrenceburg. She was born in Vevay on March 17, 1932 the daughter of Daniel and Priscilla (Martin) Peelman, both deceased.
Surviving are three children, Mary (Robert) Jung of Morgan Township, OH, William Hunter of Lawrenceburg, James (Kim) Hunter of Moores Hill; two sisters, Opal Peelman of Aurora, Pauline Ochs of Dillsboro; twelve grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Paul Hunter; two sisters, Faye Luker and Dorothy Disbro; and one brother, Luke Barnhill.
Interment will be at River View Cemetery in Aurora. Humphrey-Taylor-Detmer Funeral Home, Rising Sun, is handling the arrangements.

Ann Louise Rumph
Ann Louise Rumph, 87, of Dillsboro, died Thursday, April 7, 2005 at Dearborn County Hospital. She was born September 16, 1917 in Dillsboro the daughter of Harry Sandbrink and Martha Landwehr, both deceased. She married Elmo Rumph and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Janice (Rumph) Schein of Milan and two brothers, Irvin Sandbrink of Auburndale, FL and Willard Sandbrink of N. Canton, OH. She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth (Sandbrink) Schulenburg.
Mrs. Rumph was a 1935 graduate of Dillsboro High School. She was also a homemaker and a member of the Dillsboro Senior Citizens, the Dearborn County Chapter of AARP and the 50 Plus Club of Dillsboro.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 11, 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dillsboro.

Blanche I. Goldsmith
Blanche I. Goldsmith, 80, of the Chateau of Batesville, died Thursday, April 7, 2005 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born September 9, 1924 in Batesville the daughter of Peter Karbowski and Cecilia (Becker) Karbowski, both deceased. She married Robert Goldsmith on October 26, 1946 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville and he preceded her in death on March 12, 1999.
Survivors include two daughters, Belinda Peterson of Carmel, Benita Jones of Indianapolis; four sons, William Goldsmith of Batesville, J. Peter Goldsmith of Batesville, Robert Goldsmith of Cape Coral, FL, Albert Goldsmith of Batesville; two sisters, Helen Thielking of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Betty Stirn of Batesville; one brother, Donald Karbowski of Batesville; thirteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Karbowski.
Mrs. Goldsmith was the owner of the Brown Bag for 10 years, was a clerical worker at Kyle Trucking Company for 4 years and was a server at Hillcrest Country Club for 10 years before retiring. She was a member of the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271 Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Post #3183 Ladies Auxiliary, Daughters of Isabella and St. Louis Catholic Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 9, 1 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville.

Donald Keith Pribble, 80, of Dillsboro, died Saturday, April 9, 2005 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. He was born October 28, 1924 in Cincinnati, OH the son of Grayson Pribble and Florence Hobbs, both deceased.
Survivors include on son, Keith Pribble of Fairfield, OH; one daughter, Kim Smith of Dillsboro; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Pribble was a mechanic. He served in the Navy from May 14, 1943 to February 13, 1946. He was a member of the Dillsboro United Methodist Church, the Northcutt Laaker American Legion Post #292 and the Hopewell Masonic Lodge #80 F.&A.M. of Dillsboro.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 14, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (EDT) at Ulrich-Filter Funeral Home in Dillsboro.

" Hank" Bultman
Irvin W. "Hank" Bultman, 78, of Aurora, died Friday, April 8, 2005 in Lawrenceburg. He was born Thursday, September 16, 1926 in Ripley County the son of the late William Bultman and the late Ida Narwold Bultman.
Surviving are his wife, Irene Bultman of Aurora; sons, Edward Bultman of Franklin, Robert Bultman of Switzerland, John Bultman of Aurora; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cathy Sue Bultman.
Mr. Bultman retired as a welder from I&M after over 25 years of service. He farmed in his earlier years and worked for Bohn Aluminum in Greensburg for eight years. He was a Korean Army veteran and a member of the First Baptist Church and a charter member of the Dearborn Adult Center.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, April 12, 11 a.m. at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg with Rev. Wayne Haun officiating.
Burial will be in the Greendale Cemetery. Memorials may go to the First Baptist Church or St. John Lutheran Church in Napoleon.

Louis William Block
Louis William Block, 81, of Dillsboro, formerly of Madison, died Saturday, April 9, 2005 at the Waters of Ross Manor in Dillsboro. He was born February 28, 1924 in Aurora the son of Horace William Block and Maude Dudgeon Block, both deceased.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherry (Robert) Monroe of Madison, Linda (Robert) Asher of Nancy, KY; three sons, Louis, Jr. "Tink" and (Gina) Block of Waynesville, MO, Denny Ray (Regina) Block of Madison, Rick (Kim) Block of Madison; five sisters, Esther Levi of Aurora, Dorothy Jewett of Dillsboro, Vivian Cash of Cincinnati, OH, Carolyn Hollins of Middletown, OH, Mary Kiefer of Versailles; two brothers, Richard Block of Fort Wayne, Charles Block of Dillsboro; thirteen grandchildren and step-grandchildren; and twenty-nine great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Matthew Block, and one great-grandson, Drake Block.
Mr. Block retired from Fernald Power Plant after 30 years. He served in the Navy from October 29, 1942 to October 21, 1945. He was a 50 year member of the Hopewell Masonic Lodge #80 F.&A.M. of Dillsboro, was a life member and past commander of the Northcutt Laaker American Legion Post #292 of Dillsboro and formerly attended Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Dillsboro.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, April 12, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ulrich Filter Funeral Home in Dillsboro.
Funeral services will follow visitation at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro.

Margaret Sarah Wilson
Margaret Sarah Wilson, 90, of Batesville, died Friday, April 8, 2005 at South Central Indiana Hospice Center in Columbus. She was born April 4, 1915 in Napoleon the daughter of William and Margaret (Reckeweg) Abplanalp, both deceased. She married Everett Wilson on August 7, 1935 in Napoleon and he preceded her in death on November 2, 1990.
Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Jean Anderson of Batesville; two sons, Daniel Wilson (Sarahjane) of Greensburg, Stephen Wilson (Beverly) of Osgood; six granddaughters; two grandsons; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by seven sisters, Esther Gunter, Grace Abplanalp, Edna Harm, Alice Wilson, Stella Abplanalp, Sylvia Frakes and Mable Einhaus; three brothers, Jacob Porter Abplanalp, Clarence Abplanalp and Elmer "Dutch" Abplanalp; and two great-grandsons.
Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and had also worked with her husband with State Farm Insurance. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Crossroads, the church Ladies Aid and in earlier days was a member of the Mothers Club at the Batesville School.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, April 12, 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Crossroads, with Pastors Robin Owen and David Smith officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may go to the St. Paul Church or Decatur County Hospice.

Theresa L. Gole
Theresa L. Gole, age 43 of Endicott, New York, and formerly of Batesville, died Monday, April 4, 2005 in Meadville, Pennsylvania. She was a programmer and project manager at IBM for 18 years. She is survived by her husband Ken. They were married May 29, 1999 in Batesville.
Other survivors include her daughter, Kelly Gole and step-son, Andrew Gole, both of Endicott, NY; father and step-mother, Walter and Irene Meyer of Batesville; mother and step-father, Joanne and Charles Hazelwood of Batesville; sisters, Pam Ryan and Sandy Dickey, both of Batesville, Lori Siefert and Kristy Litzinger, both of Hamburg; and brothers, Thomas and Scott Meyer, also of Hamburg.
Memorial mass was held Saturday, April 9, 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg with Rev. John Turnbull, O.F.M. officiating.

Calvin W. Craig
Calvin W. Craig, 92, of Milan, died Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. He was born April 29, 1912 in Lawrenceburg the son of Philip and Anna Hanna (Morling) Craig, both deceased. He married Delia Bell Black and she preceded him in death on January 24, 1975. He later married Florence Saylor Craig and she preceded him in death on August 1, 2002.
Survivors include two sons, Ollie (Faye) Craig of Osgood, Guy (Reba) Craig of Osgood; one brother, Estal Craig of Aurora; one sister, Anna Marie Fox of Dover; five grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Craig and one sister, Geneva Traue.
Mr. Craig was a machinist for A.D. Cook Co., Byron Jackson Co. and retired from George Chris Co. in Lawrenceburg. He was also a member of the Delaware United Methodist Church and the Machinist's Union.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, April 5, 6-8 p.m. (slow time) at Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home in Moores Hill.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 6, 10 a.m. (slow time) at the funeral home with Brother Dale Day officiating.
Burial will be in the Mud Pike Cemetery. Memorials may go to the Delaware Fire Department or Delaware United Methodist Church.

Donald Jackson
Donald Jackson, 67, of Aurora, died Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Dearborn County Hospital. He was born August 17, 1937 in Aurora the son of Wilmer Jackson and Irene L. Jackson. He was in feed mill production.
Survivors include his mother, Irene L. Jackson of Aurora and two brothers, Russell Jackson of Georgetown and Denver Jackson of Aurora. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilmer Jackson.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 4, 2 p.m. at Ulrich Filter Funeral Home in Dillsboro.
Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro. Memorials may go to the Oakdale Cemetery Trust Fund.

Ingrid A. Rork
Ingrid A. Rork, 52, of Batesville, died Friday, April 1, 2005 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Batesville. She was born December 7, 1952 in Moosbach, Germany the daughter of Walter Schubert and Theresia Knoblack and they survive in Germany. She married Charles Rork on September 14, 1974 at the Osgood Church of Christ and he survives in Batesville.
Other survivors include one son, Daniel Rork of Lookout and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from noon until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5 at the home of Daniel Rork, located at 2978 E. Old SR 48 in Lookout. Funeral services will be private. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

John Edward Yarber
John Edward Yarber, 74, of Batesville, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. He was born on January 21, 1931 in Mt. Sterling, KY. He was the son of Clell and Florence (Wells) Yarber and J.C. and Mary Peach (Wells) Stacy.
Mr. Yarber earned his Bachelor of Science Degree and Master's Degree from Morehead State University. He was a retired teacher of 35 years having taught at Batesville for 27 years. He was also the timekeeper for basketball and football for many years. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the F.O.P., Masons, and was past president of the Lions Club and Delta Sigma Fraternity.
Survivors include his wife Opal Vise Yarber whom he married on June 3, 1959 at Ringos Mills, KY; one son, Jeffery Stacy (Jill) Yarber of Indianapolis; one daughter, Julie (Dale) Lambert of Batesville; two granddaughters, Cassie and Whitney Lambert; one sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Malia; and numerous nieces and nephews of Atlantic City, NJ.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 4, 10 a.m. at Batesville United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Hillsboro Cemetery in Hillsboro, KY.
Memorials may go to the Hansen Center in Batesville or the Indianapolis Cancer Center. Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, was in charge of the arrangements.

Madge L. Schlotman
Madge L. Schlotman, 92, of Greensburg, passed away Friday, April 1, 2005 at the Heritage House in Greensburg. She was born near Holton on September 22, 1912 the daughter of James and Susan Dobson Beach. She was married to Lester Schlotman on April 4, 1931 and he preceded her in death on November 2, 1984.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Williams and husband Gerald of Greensburg, Donna Fernandez and husband Guillermo of Gurabo, Puerto Rico; eight grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Bernice Palmer of Holton. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Betty Jane; her granddaughter, Sue Williams Rice; brothers Wilbur, Henry and Melvin Beach; and her sisters, Edna Rose and Thelma Bostic.
Mrs. Schlotman was a member of the Holton Christian Church and worked as a cook at the Billings School in Greensburg.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 5, 11 a.m. until time of services at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
Funeral services will follow visitation at the funeral home at 1 p.m. with Rev. Robert Johnson of the Free Methodist Church in Greensburg officiating.
Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Gideons in care of the funeral home.

Patricia A. Taul
Patricia A. (Pat) Taul, 76, of Versailles, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2005 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. She was born at Frankfort, Indiana on February 17, 1929 and raised in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Carl and Gail Lewis Broaders. She was married to Jesse Taul on June 1, 1947 and he survives.
Other survivors include one son, Carl H. Taul and wife Katherine of Versailles; two grandchildren, Rachel Taul of Elkhart and Carisa Sexton and her husband Brian of Pittsboro; one great-grandson, Kenny Sexton; two sisters Rose Marie Sparling and husband Don of North Hollywood, California and Wanda Kackley and husband Lee of Michigan.
Mrs. Taul was a 1947 graduate of Cross Plains High School. She was a former employee of Russell Braley's Clover Farm store in Versailles, Delaney Wood Heel Factory in Versailles and retired from Conn Organ in 1978. She was a 40-year member of the Versailles Baptist Church choir and was currently a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church in Friendship. She was also a 50-year member and past president of the Versailles American Legion Auxiliary and was a member of the Versailles Chapter of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 6 at 10:30 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles with Rev. Richard Burcham and Rev. Sherman Hughes officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 5 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with Legion Auxiliary and Eastern Star services beginning at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Akers Friendship Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the cemetery or the SE Indiana Alzheimer's Support Group in care of the funeral home.

Robert
L. "Bob" Herbert
Robert L. "Bob" Herbert, 66, of Sunman, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at Hospitality Hall in Batesville. He was born October 16, 1938 in Hamilton, OH the son of Harry and Gladys Opal Ramsey Herbert, both deceased. He married Cynthia A. Luhring and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sunny and Aaron Sams of Batesville, Angela and Larry Grimes of Justin, TX; one son, Bryan Herbert of Indianapolis; four sisters, Shirley Evans, Brenda Sturgis and Cathy Snoddy all of Connersville, Lois Clarkston of Liberty; one brother, Eddie Herbert of Socorro, NM; and nine granddaughters.
Mr. Herbert was a retired chief of security for Indian Lakes Campgrounds. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Kenneth L. Diver Post #337 of the American Legion in Sunman.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 2, 10 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home in Sunman with Eli Gabbard officiating.
Burial was in the St. Paul Cemetery in Sunman with military graveside rites conducted by the Kenneth L. Diver Post #337 American Legion of Sunman.
