Napoleon to have new day care ctr.
Cathy May - Contributing Writer
There will soon be a new day care center in Napoleon.
The Ripley County Board of Zoning Appeals approved a special
exception to allow the business in the Local Business District.
The center will be located on Lots 51 and 54 on the southeast
corner of the square in Napoleon.
Other action taken at the Ripley County Board of Zoning Appeals
meeting on April 26, included:
· Kenneth R. Jordan will now be permitted to have a
rural home occupation for repairing automotive and light trucks
at his residence at 4273 E. County Road 300 S. in Dillsboro.
· William and Janet Browning applied for a special
exception to permit temporary living quarters in a barn prior
to construction of a residence. The property is located at
77 E. County Road 800 South. Their request was approved provided
they build within three years.
· Derik Callaway, who also was asking for a special
exception to permit temporary living quarters in a barn prior
to construction of a residence, didn't want to comply with
the three year rule, so he withdrew his request.
· There was "no action taken" on Darrell
and Edna Walls' application for a variance from the required
set-back line of 15' to 12' to permit construction of a private
garage. The property is located in Four Season Estates, lot
#2, on 11434 N. Delaware Road in Batesville. The vote from
the board was 2-2, which is considered as "no action taken".
The Walls have the option to come back next month to pursue
the variance again.
· Floyd and Linda Riggs asked for a variance to permit
a survey to be performed to allow a subdivision. The property
is located at 887 Six Pine Ranch Road. Their request was granted.
Four of five BZA members were in attendance: Sam Row, Dennis
McKittrick, Roger Lang and Charles Rohlfing. Attorney John
Ertel and Planning Director Tad Brinson were also present to
advise the board.
The next meeting of the Ripley County BZA will be May 31 at
7:00 p.m. in the Commissioner's Room of the Courthouse Annex
in Versailles.
