Planning Commission submits same budget as last year
Cathy May - Contributing Writer

The Ripley County Planning Commission met June 7, in regular session. At the meeting it was noted that the commission will submit the same annual budget for 2005 to the County Council as they did last year.

The commission gave two favorable recommendations for re-zones to the Ripley County Commissioners. Both requested the re-zone in order to put mini-storage units on their properties. If the commissioners approve the re-zones, both will have to then apply for a Special Exception.

· Lawrence A. Meyer requested
a re-zone from the Residential-1 to the Road Side Business District. His property is located on 3.29 acres at 1472 Lammers Pike in Batesville.

· Dennis Belter applied for a re-zone from the Agriculture-2 District to the Road Side Business District. The property is located on two acres at 12764 N. State Road 129 in Batesville.

Nine of twelve members were in attendance: Sam Row, Steve Youngman, Maureen Sheets, Jeff French, Covell Mills, Roger Lang, Owen Menchhofer, James Negangard, and Kaye Hunger. Executive Director Tad Brinson and Attorney John Ertel were present to advise the board.

The next meeting of the Ripley
County Planning Commission will be held on July 5, at 7:00 p.m. at the Commissioners Room at the Courthouse Annex in Versailles.

It was the first meeting for Maureen Sheets who replaced Henry Nickell who resigned. Sheets is the Ripley County Commissioners appointment.
