5 150 in the number 67 Foretravel
Motorhomes on Friday night, July
8. He picked up his fourth series
win of the season after holding
off pole sitter Erin Crocker
in the number 98 Auto Value/Bumper
to Bumper Dodge.
On lap 73 of 100
Crocker took the lead but Blount
took it right back in less than
a lap. On a restart on lap 86
it was Frank Kimmel, four time
Kentucky Winner, following in
third.
Crocker gave a
strong run with about five laps
remaining, but she couldn't hold
off Blount. He took his second
career win at Kentucky Speedway.
Blount led a total of 95 laps
in the race.
Rounding out the
top five were Joey Miller in
the number 9 Country Joe Racing/Eagle
Creak Aviation Dodge, Frank Kimmel
in the number 46 Advance Auto
Parts/Pork Ford, and Justin Allgaier
number 2 Hoosier Tire Midwest/AG
Tech/Trashman Pontiac.
During qualifying
for the race Blount started second
with a speed of 170.886. Crocker
started on the pole with a speed
of 172.883, being the second
woman to ever start on the pole
at Kentucky Speedway.

Tough 225 Presented by The Greater
Cincinnati Ford Dealers was held
at the Kentucky Speedway on Saturday,
July 9. Dennis Setzer in the
46 Chevrolet Silverado came from
18th position to win his third
race in the last four starts
in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series in front of 40,196 fans.
Setzer only led
six laps when taking the lead
after Terry Cook, in the number
10 Powerstroke Diesel by International,
cut a right front tire coming
out of turn two. He hit the Backstretch
wall with five laps remaining.
Cook had led the race for 78
laps at this point trying to
get his first win since August
of 2002.
Setzer held off Todd Bodine in his number 30 Allman Brothers Band
Toyota to leave Kentucky with an 83 point lead over Ted Musgrave
in the number 1 Mopar Dodge, who finished fifth in the race.

in the number 17 NTN Bearings
Toyota was third and Mike Skinner
in the number 5 Toyota Tundra
finished fourth.
The Kentucky Speedway
will open the gates August 13
and 14 with the Indy Racing League
Indy Car Series with rookie star
Danica Patrick and the Menards
Infiniti Pro Series.
