Income surveys complete for Napoleon
Cathy May - Contributing Writer
With the help of the Southeastern Indiana Regional
Planning Commission, the Town of Napoleon now has enough income
surveys to submit to the state for a planning grant for a water
drainage study for the town. SIRPC will re-submit the grant
to the state. The grant was submitted once, but when the new
administration came in, they changed some wording in the income
surveys and asked they be done over.
Brian Samples, who is building
the area for the garbage dumpsters, was in attendance at
the Napoleon Town Board meeting. Samples said the concrete
is poured
for the
area. The board looked at gate options.
McCreary Block LLC out of Rushville, quoted
$1,459 for the flow meter needed for the lagoon. Rod Eaton will install the
meter for $1,000.
Four street signs have been ordered to match the current signs. There are two
for Locker Street, one for Main Street and one for Wilson Street. Pea gravel
has been placed on the playground area.
The basketball goals are in need of repair.
It was decided to take them down until they could be fixed for safety reasons.
The board would like to get a flag
pole to put on the grounds of the Napoleon Senior Center. They are looking
at the grant.
All three town board members, Tim Brancamp, Bill
Vankirk and Gerry Linarducci were present. Clerk-Treasurer
Karen Rohlfing was also present to advise
the board.
The next regular meeting of the Napoleon Town Board is scheduled for August
10, at 7:00 p.m. at the Napoleon Senior Center.
