The 2005 Rushville
Invite XC Meet was held on Saturday, August
27. This was the largest high school invitational
cross country meet in the state, with representation
by 71 schools.
The Division 3 boy's portion
of Saturday's meet involved 24 different schools
which included Jac-Cen-Del and Milan. The field
consisted of 141 runners in the Division 3
race.
Saturday's meet results at finish
in first place, with a time of 17:35, was Milan
senior, Adam Baylor. Finishing seventh for
the Indians was senior, Nathan Hampton with
a time of 18:30.
Jac-Cen-Del runners also finished
high having runners taking third place, Eagle
junior, Justin Eaton with a time of 18:10,
and a sixth place finish to JCD senior, Kyle
Horan with the time of 18:28.
Milan won the individual
fastest runner honor with Adam Baylor.
Jac-Cen-Del's team won high honors
as well, as they were able to hold off contenders
to finish second in the meet with the accumulative
team score of 93. The first place team finished
with a tally of 90 points.
Jac-Cen-Del Boy's individual
scores: a third place finish to Eagle junior,
Justin Eaton, with the time of 18:10; sixth
place to senior, Kyle Horan with a time of
18:28; a twenty-first place finish to Andrew
Wagner, a junior with the time of 19:24; JCD
sophomore Austin Lord with a time of 19:35
finished at twenty-eighth, and rounding out
the top five runners for the Eagles was freshman,
Blake Sutton with a time of 19:47 and a thirty-seventh
place finish. JCD senior Grant Gilland finished
fortieth with a time of 20:04, and Eagle sophomore
David Busch finished eighty-second with a time
of 21:49.
Milan Boys' individual scores:
Adam Baylor, Indian's senior, first place runner
at 17:35, seventh place finisher, and Nathan
Hampton, a senior, with the time of 18:30.
Milan junior, Norman Roark with the time of
19:28 earned a twenty-fifth place finish. Nick
Woulms, a junior, took forty-first place with
a time of 20:14, and an eighty-second place was
taken by Milan senior, Josh Yatsko, with the
time of 21:17. Milan, as a team, finished fifth
with a score of 136 points.
The meets boys' fastest time was 17:35 and slowest
finishing time was 36:19.
The Girls' also went racing
In the girl's portion of the
meet, 112 participants ran representing 21
schools, again including the JCD and Milan
squads. The range of finishing times was 15:29
for the fastest runner and the slowest to finish
was 30:58.
The Lady Eagles team finished
sixth with 202 points.
Individually, senior Alisha Lord finished thirteenth,
with a time of 18:12, senior, Amber Lunsford
finished thirtieth with the time of 19:23; sophomore
Kelley Wagner finished thirty-fifth with 19:31;
junior Kaitlin Hughes forty-sixth at 19:49, Eagle
freshman Valorie Wagner finished seventy-eighth
with 21:56; and sophomore Kayla Bradley finished
seventy-ninth with a time of 21:58.
The Lady Indians team finished thirteenth
with a 308 count.
Individually, sophomore Deborah Fryer finished
twenty-ninth with 19:21; senior Danielle Clemens
finished thirty-first with 19:24; senior Sarah
Mills finished sixty-eighth with a time of 21:06;
senior Megan Lade finished eighty-sixth with
22:41; and rounding out the Indian scoring was
freshman Sarah Hughes finishing at ninety-fourth
with a time of 25:28.
JCD and South Decatur go cross country
Eagles sweep with a wide broom, on their Thursday,
August 25 meet.
Jac-Cen-Del runners for the boys team finished
1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 11, winning the meet
by the score of JCD17 to 47 for So. Decatur.
The JCD girls also won their part of the meet
with the Lady Eagle runners finishing 1, 3, 4,
5, 6, and 7.
