Versailles License Branch to have limited hours
Wanda English Burnett - Editor
The Versailles License branch will go to limited
days and hours beginning October 4, according to information
from Greg Cook, spokesperson for the Indiana Bureau of Motor
Vehicles.
"Keeping it (the license branch) open five days was not
feasible," noted Cook as he said decisions are made on
need and efficiency.
Cook says the Versailles branch will become a satellite branch
of the Jefferson County License Bureau and will operate probably
three days a week, most likely Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
He wasn't sure of the hours of operation.
While Cook said all of the present employees of the Versailles
branch have been offered positions, he noted they may not be
in the same capacity in which they now serve.
He further noted there is no public hearing on the decision.
Versailles was one of the original license branch facilities
that was slated for closure by BMV Commissioner Joel Silverman.
