Are you ready for a night of fun, food and prizes?
Wanda English Burnett - Editor
The excitement is mounting as plans are being
finalized for the Taste of Home Cooking School set for September
29, at the South Ripley Elementary Gym, located off SR 129
on Benham Road, Versailles. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and
the show will begin at 7:00 p.m. (slow time).
There will be 'goody' bags for everyone in attendance that
night and many door prizes will be given away.
Margaret McCutcheon, Home Economist, will be making recipes
on stage, giving valuable cooking tips along the way. Those
recipes will also be part of the door prizes for the evening.
Eleven party perfect dishes accentuating regional foods will
be presented.
The two-hour demonstration combines basic cooking skills with
a touch of creativity as McCutcheon demonstrates how to present
dishes with a personal touch. Learn how to plan a casual family
get-together or a formal luncheon with cooking techniques,
national sponsor products and recipes that are sure to produce
outstanding results.
The evening will be spiced with humor and fun food facts.
If you are a trivia lover, you will enjoy the trivia questions
presented on screen after each recipe demonstration. Everyone
will receive a free 84-page Taste of Home Cooking School Brand
Name Cookbook, your roadmap to the recipes demonstrated on
stage, plus other festive fall recipes.
The Taste of Home Cooking Schools have been in this area before
and those attending know it is an evening filled with lots
of excitement that you won't want to miss. There are still
tickets available for $6.00 each. You can pick them up at the
Ripley Publishing Co.'s office at 115 S. Washington Street,
Versailles, Versailles Super Valu or the Southeastern Indiana
REMC in Osgood. A portion of the ticket sales will go to the
South Ripley Elementary School.
More booths than ever are slated to be set up at the event.
They include: A Touch of Country, Versailles Super Valu, Home & Garden,
Friendship State Bank, Tastefully Simple-Pampered Chef, Jenny
Darnold, Longaberger, Johnsonville Sausage, Silpada Designs

South Ripley PTO will have a booth set up with refreshments
available.
Don't forget your Campbell's labels. On the back of each one
be sure to include your name and address for a door prize.
The labels will be given to the school to use for valuable
equipment.
