Journalism Scholarship applications available
Applications for the Harry Thompson Memorial
Journalism Scholarship are available at the South Ripley, Jac-Cen-Del
and Milan high schools.
The scholarship was established by Ripley Publishing Company
through the Ripley County Community Foundation, in memory of
Dorothy Craig's father Harry Thompson, who was the owner and
publisher of the Osgood Journal and The Versailles Republican
for many years.
The $500 scholarship will be awarded to a senior at one of
the above listed high schools who is planning on attending
an Indiana college in the fall and majoring in either journalism
or advertising. Students applying for the scholarship need
to have a 2.5 grade point average or higher and have been a
member of their high school newspaper or yearbook staff.
Applications need to be completed and returned to the school's
principal by April 30, 2006.
