Betsy Lou Lee
Betsy Lou Lee, 63, of Milan died Monday, March 27, 2006 at
her residence. She was born Octo-ber 26, 1942 in Manchester,
KY, the daughter of Charles and Bertha (Martin) Robinson,
both deceased. She married Henry Howard Lee in 1959 and he
survives.
Survivors also include sons Howard, Joseph and Tony and wife
Jodi all of Milan; and Brian and wife Sandra of Dillsboro;
sister Joy Gabbard of Pumpkinville, NC; and eight grandchildren.
Mrs. Lee was a homemaker and former employee of Hillenbrand
Enterprises.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 29 from 6-8:00 p.m. at
the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. Private funeral
services will be held at the convenience of the family with
Rev. Carroll "Buzz" Lohrum officiating. Burial will
be at the Pleasant Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Cemetery.
Charles Lawrence Jameson
Charles Lawrence Jameson, 83, of Greenfield died Tuesday,
March 21, 2006 at Hancock Memorial Hospital, Greenfield. He
was born April 10, 1922 in Aurora, the son of Harry K. Jameson
and he is deceased. He married Leannah Cavendish Jameson and
she preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Deborah Martin of Indianapolis
and one sister, Willa Mae Russell of Aurora. One brother,
Bill Sellman, preceded him in death.
Mr. Jameson was a chemical operator at the National Lead Company
in Fernald for 33 years.
Funeral services were held Sat-urday, March 25, 1 p.m. at
the Fil-ter Funeral Home, Aurora. Burial was in the Riverview
Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association
of Indianapolis.

Faith P. Burton, 9, of Batesville, died Friday, March 24,
2006. Funeral services were Monday, March 27 at noon.

Arthur Graves, 75, passed away March 14, 2006. Funeral services
were held Friday, March 17.
Edith Irene Lewis
Edith Irene Lewis, 85, of Cincinnati, formerly of Milan,
passed away February 21, 2006 in Cincinnati. She was born
January 4, 1921 the daughter of Steve and Eva Williamson,
both deceased. She married Henry P. Lewis and he preceded
her in death in January 1997.
Survivors include brother-in-law John Lewis and wife Billy,
Kash Lewis and the late Katherine as well as many nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Rose McMurray in
1998.
She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Cincinnati.
Funeral services were held February 24. Burial was in the
Craven Cemetery in Milan.

Bernice M. Dierckman, 81, of Morris, died Tuesday, March
14, 2006. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 18
at St. Anthony’s Church.

Martha Jane Dorothy Luers, 77, of Lawrenceburg died Friday,
March 17, 2006. Funeral services were held Monday, March

Kathryn L. Herbert, 83, of Bright, died March 16, 2006. Funeral

Ralph C. Fischer
Ralph C. Fischer, 79, of Versailles, passed away Sunday,
March 19, 2006 at the Ross Manor in Dillsboro. He was born
at Lawrenceburg on August 13, 1926 the son of Henry and
Matee Licking Fischer. He was married to Loa McCauley on
March 11, 1950 and she preceded him death on September
20,1997.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Jack Fischer and his
wife Irene of Greendale, Charles and Jane of Aurora, and
Daniel and Carol of Dillsboro; one daughter Ann Edwards and
her husband Don of Versailles; 16 grandchildren and 11 great
grandchildren; one sister Carol Ann Martin of Ft. Myers,
Florida; and aunt, Gertrude Johnston of Elrod.
Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his parents,
his brothers Kenneth, Irwin, Carl, and Leroy Fischer and
his sisters Marjorie Fischer and Mable Meyer.
Mr. Fischer was a Navy veteran of WWII where he served on
the USS Donner and the USS Fort Mandan. He was awarded the
WWII Victory Medal and the American Area Ribbon. Mr. Fischer
was a 54-year member of the Local 44 of the IronWorkers Union.
He was also a member of the Versailles American Legion, Amvets,
and the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dewberry.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, March 23 at
11 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dewberry with
Pastor Donald Sauls officiating. Burial will be in the church
cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 22, from 10 am. until
the time of services at the church.
Memorials may be given to the church in care of the Stratton-Karsteter
Funeral Home, Versailles.

Clara E. Stahley
Clara E. Stahley, 88, of Milan, died Wednesday, March 8,
2006 at the Dillsboro Manor. She was born September 18,
1917 in Cincinnati, Ohio the daughter of Anthony and Margaret
(Lattner) Blanken, both deceased. She married Forest (Frosty)
Stahley on December 16, 1937 and he preceded her in death
on June 3, 1967.
Survivors include one son, Edward (Jean) Stahley of Lawrenceburg;
one brother, Ralph Blanken of Batesville; two sisters, Mary
Mann of Milan and Dorothy Bennett of Moores Hill; five grandchildren
and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death
one daughter, Ruth Evans Burmann and one grandson, David
Evans.
Mrs. Stahley and her husband owned and operated the Stahley
Slaughter House for 19 years and she later worked at Union
Furniture Company in Batesville. She was a member of the
St. Charles Catholic Church at Milan and was a 50 plus member
of the Legion Auxiliary.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 11 at 10 a.m.
at the St. Charles Catholic Church, Milan with Fr. Gregory
Bramlage officiating. Burial was in the St. Charles Catholic
Church cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the masses.

Jerry Riehle, 46 of Morris, died Thursday, March 9, 2006.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 13 at St. Anthony’s
Church in Morris.

Crystal “Butterfly” McQueen
Crystal “Butterfly” McQueen, 27, of Vevay, formerly
of Milan, died Sunday, March 12, 2006 at King’s Daughters’ Hospital.
She was born February 11, 1979 in Lawrenceburg the daughter
of Kenneth and Emily Boyer McQueen.
Survivors include fiancÈe Wilbur Weaver of Vevay;
daughter MacKenzie of Milan; son Kendall of Vevay; mother
Emily of Metamora; sister Melissa of Versailles; grandparents
Pauline and Kenneth McQueen, Sr. of Sunman; grandmother Annabelle
Boyer of Metamora; future mother-in-law Thelma Weaver of
Vevay; plus aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father Kenneth “Dobber” McQueen;
grandfather Homer Boyer and fiancÈe’s father
Jesse Weaver.
Miss McQueen was an employee of Belterra Casino in Vevay.
She enjoyed sports, especially basketball, volleyball and
softball.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 15 from 4-8:00 p.m. at
Cook Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman. Funeral services
will be Thursday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home
with Pearl Cornett, pastor of the Cave Hill Church of God
officiating. Burial will be at the St. Paul Cemetery in Sunman.
Memorials may be given to the family for the children.
Lois Ann Taylor
Lois Ann Taylor, 59, of Dillsboro, died Saturday, March 11,
2006 at the Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg. She
was born July 9, 1946 in Switzerland County the daughter
of Gilbert and Leona (Raisor) Tingle and they preceded
her in death. She married Richard W. Taylor, Sr. on November
25, 1963 and he survives.
Other survivors include one son, James A. Taylor of Dillsboro;
two daughters, Darlene Craigmile of Dillsboro, Charlene Stroop
of Dillsboro; three brothers, Earl Tingle of Versailles,
Donald Tingle of Vevay, Charles Tingle of Dillsboro; four
sisters, Shirley Hewitt of Vevay, Shelby Minch of Vevay,
Wilma Romans of Madison, Leora Marsh of North Vernon and
six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son Richard
Taylor, Jr. and one granddaughter, Marland Kaye Taylor.
Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and was an avid car-racing fan.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, March 14, at
2:30 p.m. at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan with
Rev. Howard Wade officiating. Burial will be in the New Craven
Cemetery, Milan.

Norma Louise Peterson
Norma Louise Peterson, 84, of Milan, died Friday, March 10,
2006 at Ripley Crossing, Milan. She was born October 15,
1921 in Dearborn County, Indiana the daughter of Michael
and Lorraine (Canfield) Eichel, both deceased. She married
Charles Ross Peterson and he preceded her in death in December
of 1987.
Survivors include three sons, Charles A. Peterson, Jr. of
Milan, Ronald Lee Peterson of Moores Hill and John Edward
Peterson of Versailles, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother,
Wallace Eichel.
Mrs. Peterson as a homemaker, a member of the Milan First
Baptist Church and the Young at Heart Club at Dent, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, March 14 at
11 a.m. at the Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home, Moores Hill with
Rev. Harris Long officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Sinai
Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Ripley Crossing Activity Fund or
the Milan Baptist Church. Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home, Moores

Montgomery Hunt
Ethel Clymree Montgomery Hunt, 82, of Madison passed away Sunday, March 5, 2006
at her home. She was born May 14, 1923 in Red Boiling Springs, TN, the daughter
of William and Rosa Deckard Montgomery, both deceased. She married John E. Hunt
on November 25, 1944, in Covington, KY, and he preceded her in death on January
31, 1981.
Survivors include nine daughters and sons-in-law Diane and Danny Harris and Wilma
Jolly of Versailles; Wanda and Gary Imel, Velma and Shannon Meadows, Debra and
Eddie Cassidy, and Marilyn Ritch all of Madison; Inez and Rick Shouse of Dupont;
Linda and Jim Pennington of Hanover and Teresa and Mark Griffin of Kent; seven
sons and daughters-in-law John E. Jr. and Kelly, Clyde and Bambi, Mark and Terri,
and Michael and Michelle all of Madison; Jerry and Jennifer of Warsaw, KY; John
and Angie of Greensburg; and Darrell of Indianapolis; sister Elma Meyers of Indianapolis;
64 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and other
relatives.
She was preceded in death by daughter Brenda Hunt; brothers Orba, Vester, Dexter,
Hayden, Robert and Baxter Montgomery; and sisters Coradel Montgomery and Molene
Goldburg.
Mrs. Hunt was a homemaker, devoted, wife, mother and grandma. She was a member
of the Christian International Family Worship Center in Versailles.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 8 from 4-8:00 p.m. and Thursday, March 9
from 9-1:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 9 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home
with Dennis Straub officiating. Burial will be at the Brooksburg Cemetery.

Gilbert William John Nolte
Gilbert William John Nolte, 91, of Dillsboro passed away Saturday, March 4, 2006
at The Waters of Dillsboro Manor. He was born July 14, 1914 in Caesar Creek
Township, the son of John and Amelia Miller Nolte, both deceased.
Survivors include nieces Mrs. Elverda Kaiser of Lawrenceburg and Lorene Westmeier;
and great-niece Teresa Martini.
He was preceded in death by brother Clifford Nolte and sisters Ida Westmeier
and Norma Nolte.
Mr. Nolte was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a retired farmer in Farmer’s
Retreat and the former manager of the Southeastern Indiana Feeder Auction in
Versailles. Mr. Nolte also was the sexton and caretaker of the St. John’s
Cemetery in Farmers Retreat for 55 years. He was instrumental in the restoration
of St. John’s one room school and museum. Mr. Nolte was a former Dearborn
County Councilman.
Funeral services are today, Tuesday, March 7 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s
Lutheran Church in Farmers Retreat. Burial will be at the St. John’s Lutheran
Cemetery.

Harold W. Orman, 79, of Beech Grove, formerly of Cross Plains, passed away March
4, 2006.

Laverna Gale “Shorty” McClellan
Laverna Gale “Shorty” McClellan, 73, of Dillsboro passed away Friday,
March 3, 2006 at her home. She was born March 14, 1932 in Dillsboro, the daughter
of Irvin and Lena Stevens Cutter, both deceased.
Survivors include daughters Gayla Scott and Tamelena Shelton both of Dillsboro;
brother John Cutter of Dillsboro; sisters Loretta Libbert of Silver Springs,
FL and Lois Kinnett of Aurora; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother Howard L. Cutter and sister Wanda Mae
Cutter.
Mrs. McClellan worked at Reliance Electric for 30 years. She was a member of
Hopewell Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 6 at the Ulrich Filter Funeral Home
in Dillsboro. Burial was at the Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro.
Memorials may be given to the Dillsboro Park to purchase trees or Hospice of
Southeastern Indiana.
