South Ripley Raider
Head Varsity Basketball Coach
Scott Holdsworth
reports that at 6'3" and 180
pounds, Raider junior Michael Fear
had only recently ended a consistent
hitting streak from the fifteen
foot stripe. Fear connected on
44 consecutive free throws. Fear,
from early on and continues to
be, a thrill to watch as he is
a steady threat from the three
point arc, a threat to drive, as
well as many other facets of the
game. Fear has mastered many accomplishments,
one of the many objectives mastered
by Fear is a dead eye from the
fifteen foot stripe. During the
Raiders' past season, 2005-2006,
Fear reached a milestone setting
a new plateau in Raider basketball
history by scoring 44 consecutive
free throws during competition.
His record setting drive began
in competition on December 17 of
2005, and remained flawless, until
the Raiders' sectional play against
the Lawrenceburg Tigers in Class
2A Sectional #44 at the Southwestern
Hanover High School gym.
The South Ripley Raiders' consecutive
foul shooting record was previously
held at the count of 22 by Dale
Thomas. The old record had stood
since 1988, before being obliterated
this year by Fear. |
