About an hour of the Versailles Town Board meeting was taken up with a re-zone discussion. Von McGuire was asking to re-zone about six acres he owns at approximately 528 W. US 50 in Versailles from Residentialwill apply for a grant for the cost of the chipper. An open house was set for the new water treatment plant for Saturday, August 11 from 9 a.m. to noon.

WANDA ENGLISH BURNETT PHOTO
Dressed in formal attire, Kathryn Sidell took her place as the 2007 4-H Queen at the Ripley County Fair Sunday night. She is the daughter of Larry and Tammy Sidell of Batesville, and a member of the Busy Bees and Ripley Wranglers 4-H clubs. She noted that she made her formal gown and later participated in the style show that followed. Marc Bergman was named 4-H King, but was not present to accept the title. He is the son of Carol and Dennis Bergman of Batesville. Newly named royalty will preside over events at the fair this week. Other Queen contestants were: Brittney Luers, Kendra Hartman, Emily Schmaltz, and Carol Bergman. King contestants included: Matt Bauman and Josiah Martz.
