Osgood Town Marshal dismissed

At a special called meeting for the town of Osgood, the termination of Rodney Stepleton, marshal for the town, was announced. The minutes read, “With the Town Council setting as the Safety Board for the Town of Osgood, Mary Ann Gay read the Finding of Facts. Rodney Stepleton violated rules, regulations and policies of the Town of Osgood.”

Information from that meeting further revealed that Stepleton was advised to turn over all keys, passwords and equipment. The meeting took place last Tuesday, November 6 at 5:30 p.m. at the clerk-treasurer’s office with town council members Jeff Volz, Linda Krinop, Gary Norman and Clerk-Treasurer Tammy Wilhoit present. Also present for the meeting was Attorney Mary Ann Gay, Rodney Stepleton and wife, Jackie, along with Will Vincent.

The council appointed present Deputy Marshal Grover Powers as the Interim Town Marshal on a temporary basis pending the hiring of another marshal.

Applications are being accepted for the position. Academy is required and experience preferred. Applications can be picked up at the town hall at 147 W. Ripley Street, Osgood.
