Patricia O’Connor
Patricia O’Connor, 81, of Osgood, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2007. Private services are being held for the family. Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood is in charge of arrangements.

Loyd L. Delay
Loyd L. Delay, 97, of Versailles, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at his home. He was born near New Marion on September 19, 1910, the son of Calvin Luther and Lizzie Lane Delay. He was married to Eva Sparks on April 20, 1940 and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Jim Delay and his wife Rita of Concord, California and Phil Delay and his wife Debbie of Bloomington; two daughters, Betty Hyatt and her husband Roger of Columbus, Ohio and Debbie Mellin and her husband Larry of Plymouth; daughter-in-law Ruth Delay of Columbus; grandchildren Jeff Delay and his wife Tracey , Greg and Connie Delay, Erik Mellin, Ben, Sara, and Rachel Delay; great grandchildren Ryan, Haley, Justin, and Madison Delay; and one sister, Mrs. Elva Little of Versailles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Loyd Delay, Jr., and his sisters, Gladys Marsh and Clare Morrell.
Mr. Delay was a 1928 graduate of Versailles High School where he helped lead the Frenchies to the 1928 Sectional title. He was employed for 39 years with PSI as a local representative retiring in 1975. He began his career as an electrician with his uncle Will Smith and the Versailles Electric Company.
Mr. Delay was an 86 year member of the Versailles Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, trustee, and Sunday school teacher and was also a member of the IBEW. Mr. Delay was a 53 year member of the Versailles Lions Club and was named "Lion of the Year" in 1994.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 16 at 11 a.m. at the Versailles Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Burcham and Rev. Mark Walker officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery. Visitation is being held today, Thursday, from 4-8 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Versailles Baptist Church building fund or the Cliff Hill Cemetery in care of the funeral home.

Maxine Bliton Wilson
Maxine Bliton Wilson, 84, of Osgood, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2007. Private family services will be held. Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood is in charge of arrangements.

Wilbur Fredrick Knigga
Wilbur Knigga, 93, of Dillsboro, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the Waters of Dillsboro, Ross Manor. He was born on December 22, 1913, at Farmers Retreat, the son of Arthur and Clara Vinup Knigga. He married Esther Scholle on Sept. 12, 1912 and she survives.
Other survivors include his two children: Ken Knigga of Dillsboro, and Carol (William) Lovins of Milan; two grandchildren, Tom Lovins and Denise Roark; four great grandchildren, Norman Roark, Tanner Roark, Casey Lovins and Cody Lovins; and his sister, Hazel Pabst of Cincinnati, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his brother, Denton Knigga and a sister, Mildred Knigga.
Mr. Knigga graduated from Dillsboro High School in 1933. He and his wife lived near Farmers Retreat their entire life. He was a former member of the Farmers Mutual Aid Society Insurance, and the Men’s Club of St. Johns Lutheran Church, of which he and his wife were lifelong members. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling in the men’s bowling league at church.
Funeral services are being held today, Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Farmers Retreat, with burial in St. John’s Cemetery at Farmers Retreat. Memorials may be made to the Friendship Fire Department or to St. John’s Cemetery. Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro is in charge of arrangements.

Leroy H. Grossman

Leroy H. Grossman, 80, formerly of Batesville, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2007. Visitation is being held today, Thursday, from 4-7 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville with a rosary service at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Church. Memorials may be made to the Oldenburg Academy.

Kenny Franklin
Kenny Franklin, 55, of Holton, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the Hospice of South Central Indiana at Columbus. He was born near Holton on February 10, 1952 the son of Elmer and Vonda Runyan Franklin.
Survivors include one son, Tony Franklin and his wife Leeann of Dabney; one daughter, Stephanie Boswell and her husband Shane of Butlerville; five grandchildren, Tanner, Trenton and Lila Franklin and Tyler and Dylan Boswell; one brother, Elmer Franklin, Jr. and his wife Kay of Westport; one sister Darlene Cundiff and her husband Terry of North Vernon.
Mr. Franklin was a Corporal in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War where he served in Okinawa. He was a member of the Holton Christian Church and was a bricklayer.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 16 at 2 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. David Shivers of the Hopewell Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Versailles American Legion. Visitation is being held today, Thursday, from 5-8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.

Danny Russell Peetz
Danny Russell Peetz, 55, of Osgood, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at his residence. He was born on May 9, 1952 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville, the son of Russell Oscar and Pearl Welsh Peetz.
Survivors include one brother: Clifford and wife Debra Peetz of Osgood; sisters: Sue and husband Ron Schutte and Linda Lou Owens all of Greensburg; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and one niece.
Mr. Peetz was a confirmed member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Napoleon and was a custodian with Jac-Cen-Del School System for 25 years.
Visitation service is being held today, Thursday, from 5-7 p.m. with funeral services on Friday, November 2 at 11 a.m., both services will be held at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood. Burial will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Napoleon. Memorials may be given to Jac-Cen-Del Scholarship Foundation or St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are being made from Neal’s Funeral Home.
