Lady Eagle, Becca Wagner, draws special recognition in her freshman
year of basketball action
Gary Franklin, Sports Writer
Coach Scott Smith of the Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagle
basketball program shared information he recently received about
the honor bestowed on his freshman Lady Eagle standout, Becca
Wagner.
Wagner has not only caught the eye of locals following the Lady
Eagle basketball teams games, but has found favor from roundball
excellence seekers from elsewhere.
Wagner's superior performance has earned her recognition and
now an honored selection to play in the Indiana High School
Showcase for underclassmen.
A vote from each of the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association's
three districts selects players that will be given the opportunity
to participate in the event.
This is the 6th Annual Indiana High School Basketball Showcase
for underclassmen presented by the Indiana Basketball Coaches
Association and the IHSAA. This years showcase will be held
at Ben Davis High School on Saturday, July 12.
It's purpose is to showcase the best underclassman talent the
state of Indiana has to offer, and is held during the NCAA contact
period so that college coaches from all over the country may
be in attendance.
College coaches at the event will get a chance to see these
selected players in a variety of fundamental drills and situations.

As those watching her will verify, Lady
Eagle Becca Wagner hit the floor as a "ready to get
it on" player, very quickly.
