Nancy Pearl Bowling
Nancy Pearl Bowling, 86, of Versailles, passed
away on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at her home. She was born
at Oneida in Clay County, Kentucky, on October 25, 1921, the
daughter of Elza and Minnie Webb. She was married to Sulvan
Bowling on September 28, 1943 and he preceded her in death
on August 13, 1974.
Survivors include four sons, Richard (Diana) Bowling of Lebanon,
Ohio, Sulvan Bowling, Jr. of Dillsboro, Michael (Barbra) Bowling
of French Lick, and James (Vonda) Bowling of Moorefield; one
daughter Betty Jo (Gene) Copeland of Breckenridge, Colorado;
16 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and one sister,
Elva Reed of Oneida, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by
her parents, several brothers and sisters, and her grandson,
Michael Bowling, Jr.
Mrs. Bowling was a 1939 graduate of the Oneida Baptist Institute
and attended the Fugaci School of Business in Lexington. She
was a member of the Trinity Christian Center in Lawrenceburg
and attended the Washington Baptist Church in Elrod. She was
a former employee of the Delaney Wood Heel Factory in Versailles
and retired in 1997 and 21 years as a cook at the South Ripley
Elementary School in Versailles.
Funeral services are being held today, Tuesday, April 8 at
11 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles
with Pastor Bob Brigman of the Trinity Christian Center officiating.
Burial will be in the Washington Cemetery in Elrod. Memorials
may be given to the Hospice of Kings Daughters
Hospital or the Trinity Christian Center in care of the funeral
home.
Mildred A. (Nettie) Brunner
Mildred A. (Nettie) Brunner, 82, of Indianapolis, formerly
of Versailles, passed away on March 25, 2008. She was married
to Glenn T. Brunner who preceded her in death in 1980.
Survivors include daughters: Mary L. Mathis, Bonnie S. Cornn,
Janet Christie, Tammy Brunner; sons: David Brunner and John
Brunner; 17 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.
Services were held on Saturday, March 29 at St. Monica Catholic
Church in Indianapolis and St. John Catholic Church in Osgood
with burial at the Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison.
Lillian B. Wallpe
Lillian B. Wallpe, 85, of Batesville, passed away on Wednesday,
April 2, 2008. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April
5. The family requests memorials be given to Batesville EMS
10 or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Weigel
Funeral Home in Batesville was in charge of arrangements.
Lori Grahl
Lori Grahl, 36, of Aurora, passed away on Saturday, April
5, 2008. Visitation is being held today, Tuesday, from 5-8
p.m. at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. Funeral services
will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Hogan Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be
given to the family. Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan
is in charge of arrangements.
Georgia Lee Centers
Georgia Lee Centers, 62, of Rising Sun, passed away on Sunday,
April 6, 2008 at her home. She was born on September 27, 1945
at Batesville the daughter of Everett and Betty Jean Stoneking
Cox. She married Donald Centers on October 13, 2007 and he
survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Rae Jean Auterson and
husband, Michael of Versailles; one sister, Connie Dytmire
of South Carolina; two brothers, Paul Cox and Manis Cox both
of Florida; two half-brothers Ralph Breeding and Andy Breeding,
both of South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her son
Randall Wayne Nealis, her parents, and her brother Damon Cox.
Mrs. Centers was a 1964 graduate of Holton High School. She
was employed with Grand Victoria Casino in Rising Sun and
had been formerly employed with SETA and the Ripley County
Welfare Department. She was a member of the Holton Christian
Church, Versailles Chapter of the Eastern Star, and the Rising
Sun American Legion Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 10 at 11
a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles
with Rev. James Byerly of the Tyson United Methodist Church
officiating. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Visitation
will be on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. Memorials may be given
to the American Cancer Society, the Hospice of Decatur County,
or the Holton Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
Diana Kay Craig
Diana Kay Craig, 54, of Guilford, passed away
on Sunday, April 6, 2008. Funeral services will be held on
Wednesday, April 9 at 11 a.m. at Markland Funeral Home in
Rising Sun. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Aurora.
Visitation is today, Tuesday, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral
home. Memorials may be given to the Dearborn County Hospice.

Ivan Franklin, 77, of Elrod, passed away on
Monday, April 7, 2008, at the Waters of Dillsboro. Services
are pending at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan.
Louise Clark
Louise Clark, 64, of Osgood, passed away on April 3, 2008
at her residence. She was born on January 13, 1944 in Covington,
Kentucky, the daughter of Johnnie and Myrtle Poindexter Hammons.
She married Lester Clark, Sr., and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughter, Lisa Quade, of Osgood; sons, Lester
Clark, Jr., of Osgood and James Dornbusch of Covington, Ky.;
six grandchildren: Rick, Jennifer, and Eli Eckerle and Jeremy,
Daniel and Matthew Dornbusch; four step-grandchildren: Nona
King, Andrew Oaldon, Christopher Oaldon and John Batterton;
one great grandchild; five step-great grandchildren; sister,
June Goff of Burnell, Fl.; and brothers, Bill Hammons of Osgood
and Clarence Hammons of Burnell, Fl. She was preceded in death
by her parents, husband and nine sisters and brothers.
Mrs. Clark was a homemaker.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 7 at Cook Funeral
Home with Joe Owens, Osgood, officiating. Burial was in the
Adams Lutheran Church Cemetery in Batesville. Cook Funeral
Home in Sunman was in charge of arrangements.

away on Friday, April 4, 2008. Funeral services were held

Estal Eugene "Bud" Huneke, 76, of
Nicholasville, Kentucky, formerly of Batesville, passed away
on Wednesday, March 26, 2008. Funeral services were held on
Saturday, March 29 with burial in the St. John Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be given Kealan Hunekes Education Fund.

Florence (Flo) Terrill
Florence (Flo) Terrill, 82, of Lawrenceburg,
passed away on March 27, 2008. Funeral services were held
on Monday, March 31. Burial was in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery.

Howard Dean Bloss, Jr.
Howard Dean Bloss, Jr., 72, of Milan, passed away on Saturday,
March 29, 2008 at Hospice of Cincinnati. He was born on December
8, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Howard Dean and Marjorie
(Blake) Bloss, Sr.
Survivors include loving companion, Mari Anne Wiggers; two
sons, Howard Dean (Julie) Bloss III of Cincinnati, Ohio and
Robert Byron Bloss of Georgetown, Ohio; daughter, Teresa (Vernon)
Smith of Chesapeake, Ohio; one brother, Robert W. (Donna)
Bloss of Newburgh; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mr. Bloss received his Bachelors of Arts degree from Morehead
State University and received his Masters of Education from
the University of Cincinnati. He taught and coached at Georgetown,
Ohio; Hammersville, Ohio; Norwood View; was later principal
of the Osgood Elementary School; served as superintendent
at Pekin and later at Milan Community Schools for seven years.
After leaving Milan, Mr. Bloss served as principal of Holy
Redeemer Grade School in Evansville; served as superintendent
of South Newton County School Corp. at Kentland, and superintendent
of Metropolitan School District of Shakamak in Jasonville.
After retirement, he worked at the Community Mental Health
Center in Batesville.
Mr. Bloss was a member of the Methodist Church, Milan Masonic
Lodge #31; past president of the Milan Lions Club. He was
one of the founding members of the Milan Community Park, a
member of the scholarship committee of the Ripley County Community
Foundation, a member of the Indiana Superintendents Association
of Public Schools and the Indiana School Board Association.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 4 from 5-8 p.m. at
Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. No funeral services.
Burial will be at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery in
Booneville. Memorials may be given to the Ripley County Community
Foundation, Milan Lions Club, Milan Scholarship Fund or Hospice
of Cincinnati. Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan is in
charge of arrangements.

Lonnie Reynolds, 66, of Versailles, passed
away on March 31, 2008. Memorial services will be held at
Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles on Monday, April
7 at 10 a.m.

Rev. Monsignor Bernard Schmitz, 76, of Morris, passed away
on Monday, March 24, 2008. Funeral services were held on Monday,
March 31, with burial in the St. Anthonys Church cemetery.
