Lady Raider Davis is IHSAA State Meet bound

After a pretty inspiring season on the golf course, South Ripley Lady Raider golfer Lakin Davis mastered a score of 80 in regional tournament action, to earn advancement to the 2008 IHSAA State Girls Golf Finals.
Davis shot a round at 41 and followed it with a round at 39 on the Smock Golf Club Course in Greenwood.
Teams advancing to the State Finals Tournament were Carmel with a score of 315, Roncalli @ 325 and Greensburg @ 334.
The three girls earning an opportunity to compete at the State as individuals not part of a qualifying advancing team were Janice Baumberger of Franklin Central with a total score of 74, Emily Dixon of Zionsville with a total of 75 and Davis of SR at 80.
Davis will compete in state finals on Friday at The Legends of Indiana Golf Course in Franklin.

Lady Raiders take match with the fifth game victory

The South Ripley HS Lady Raider volleyball teams traveled to Milan High School on Monday night, September 29, for competition against the Lady Indians.
Back to back JV Lady Indian game wins earned them a match victory in the opening session. The game scores were Milan 25-23 SR and Milan 25-22 SR.
In varsity action, South Ripley hit the floor running in high gear with a win in game one by the score of SR 25-13 Milan.
Game two found Lady Indian Coach Terry Wullenweber inserting mostly underclassmen along with senior Darcy Robinson, to try to muster a different look for his team.
The move seemed to work as the motivated group played strong, but again fell to defeat to the Lady Raiders by game's end at SR 25-18 Milan.
The Lady Indian's motivation carried on to game three, as Coach Wullenweber reinserted his regular starting lineup on the floor. They claimed victory of game three and game four forcing a fifth game to fifteen to determine the winner of the match.
The scores of games three and four were Milan 25-21 SR and Milan 25-15 SR.
With both teams pumped and ready to battle in the rubber game for the match, play resumed.
Game five proved to be a challenge for both teams, as neck and neck the teams battled to the finish where the Lady Raiders eventually claimed match victory, 15-13.
