'09 Ripley Co. Basketball Tournament Championship summary

Playing their way to the championship round of the 35th Annual Varsity Girls Ripley County Basketball Tournament contest were the South Ripley Lady Raiders, behind their first year Varsity Coach Brian Samples, and the Batesville Lady Bulldogs, following the lead of Coach Jason Slopsema in his third year over their girl's program.
Girls Varsity Consolation
The January 9, Friday night girls varsity championship game followed a consolation match between the Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagles and the Milan Lady Indians which was won by JCD by a 24 point margin at 50-26, with neither Stutler senior available to play for the tribe.

The championship game following its center court tip left little doubt what the outcome would render, only the score remained to be determined, as the Lady Bulldogs scored feverishly from early on to the final horn ending the game.
Seperated by a 23 point margin, the Lady Bulldog final game tally was 55-32 over the Lady Raiders.

The term ugly comes to mind as I replay this game in my mind. Not so much in how the teams played nor how the coaches coached, but in the circumstances beyond their control. Yeah, UGLY is the word!
