In a special meeting of the Osgood Public Library
held on Tuesday, September 9, attorney for the Osgood Public
Library Board Larry Eaton announced that the proposed budget
for 2010 has been received from the DLGF (Department of Local
Government Finance).
According to Eaton, the budget was cut $10,000, which will reduce
the previous tax rate by 1.37%.
According to Osgood Public Library Director Emily Kruse, the
tax rate last year was .0606. The new rate has been figured
to be about .0528 upon confirmation from the DLGF.
All along, Richard Parks, treasurer for the OPL board noted
that he felt something was not figured correctly and felt it
would be a lower rate as was the case when the announcement
came last week.
