Volunteers needed to help light up the 'Y'

A group of volunteers, under the leadership of Bill McDonald is coming together this Saturday, December 12 at 8 a.m. to help erect the Joe Day light display located at US 50 and US 421 in Versailles.

After McDonald found out about Day having cancer and not being able to carry on a 32-year tradition, he decided to do something. He began to make phone calls, and now a group is being coordinated to put up the display that usually takes Day months.

You can contact McDonald at 812-689-6699 or his wife, Toni at 812-621-1344 to find out how you can help.

If you are physically unable to help on Saturday but would still like to support the effort, you can make a donation for operational expenses to the "Light up the "Y" for Christmas" account set up at the Napoleon State Bank, Osgood.
