According to Osgood Town Council President Linda Krinop, as of September 2 Josh Cady had been named interim marshal after the termination of John Hegge.

Since the meeting on September 21 the Osgood Journal received a letter from Josh Cady. The letter reads in part, “I have given the Town of Osgood my resignation today, effective October 1.” At the meeting Steven Stepleton was promoted to deputy marshal. It was noted he will continue with training scheduled to begin in January.

Updates on current projects were given. According to Pat Zaharako, Commonwealth Engineers, the water storage, storm water, and sewer projects are continuing to move forward.

Zaharako said the water storage project will go out to bid once approval from Rural Development has been received. Bidding for the storm water project will begin in 2011. Grant money is in place according to Zaharako and the design phase should be completed by the end of the year.

A letter of intent and request for obligation of funds has been received from Rural Development for the sewer project. An agreement will be presented at the October meeting. Bids for this project will be advertised in the summer of 2011.

An auction for two town vehicles was held. The highest bid for a 1996 Ford dump truck was awarded to Dave Patterson for $5,900. The 1995 Ford water utility truck was awarded to David Rose for $2,600.

In other business, the 2011 budget and ordinance 2010-13 was approved. The motion to review the Osgood Public Library budget was approved. According to Krinop, the town is required to review the budget as per state law.

Resolution 2010-7, an agreement with Napoleon Community Rural Water Company to purchase water from Osgood, was approved.

A grant for $36,320 was received from the Reynolds Foundation to go towards the sewer project. The motion to sign the grant agreement was unanimously approved.

Trick or Treat night is scheduled for October 30 from 5-7 p.m.

All board members were in attendance. The next regular schedule meeting will be Tuesday, October 19 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Osgood Town Hall.
