EMT Classes

Applications are now being accepted for EMT classes. The class series will run from Sept. 13-April 14. Participants must be 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license and be CPR certified as a healthcare provider. Cost is $300. Moores Hill Baptist to hold garage sale

The Moores Hill Baptist Church (behind the Moores Hill Post Office) is having a garage sale in the fellowship hall on July 18 and 19. Hours on the 18th are 9-5 p.m. and 19th are 9-3 p.m. Donations may be brought to the church until July 14. Please call 744-6880 if you want to drop off donations.

July 20

Benefit ride for Kasey McAdams

A benefit ride for Kasey McAdams, 3, of Versailles, will be Sat., July 20. Kasey was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor in April. Ride starts at Pollard's Bowl in Versailles. Sign-ups are from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the ride will start at 12:30 p.m. Several stops, ending at the bowling center, benefit to follow. Single rider: $15; couple $25. Proceeds will go to medical and traveling expenses for further treatment. Information: 812-584-1387.

Back Door Friends in Faith

Back Door Friends in Faith, a ministry provided by Tyson United Methodist Church will provide items not allowed for purchase by the Food Stamp program to local families. The next distribution date is Saturday, July 20 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Tyson UMC annex at 107 S. Adams, Versailles.

OPL/Milan Branch Library to host worm program

The Osgood Public Library will host a worm program on Saturday, July 20 as part of the summer reading program. Kids wills have 200 worms in which to build worm farms to take home afterwards. The program begins at 11 a.m. in Osgood and 1 p.m. in Milan.

The Spirituals at Bethany Baptist Church

The Spirituals will be at Bethany Baptist Church on Sunday, July 21, 10:30 a.m. Located at 328 S. Sycamore Street, Osgood.

King's Faith movie coming to Osgood

Local audiences are partnering with producers of King's Faith (PG13) to bring the teen inspirational drama to Osgood for a one-night-only showing at the Damm Theatre on July 12 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $6.00 each.

ALA Leora Weare 173 special meeting

The American Legion Auxiliary Leora Weare Unit 173 will meet Mon., July 22 at 6:30 p.m., post home. Special meeting with 2013 Girl State delegates, their families and contributing organizations. Members expected to attend. All parents and contributing organizations are invited.

Travel slide show at Batesville Memorial Library

Gary Wintz will offer a free travel slide show at the Batesville Memorial Public Library on Thursday, July 25 from 7-8:30 p.m. Free and open to the public.

Osgood ALA Rummage/Bake Sale

The Osgood American Legion Aux. Post 267 will have a rummage/bake sale on Fri., July 26 and Sat., July 27 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Saturday- $1 a bag.) Located at the Legion Park on N. US 421, outside of Osgood.

Book Club at the Osgood Public Library

The Book Club meets on the first Thursday of every month at the Osgood Public Library at 6 p.m. Please call the library at 654-4011 for information on the book to be discussed at the next meeting and to reserve a copy. Newcomers are always welcome, even if you have not read the book.

La Leche League (breast feeding support)

Southeastern Indiana Woodturners

The Moores Hill Food Pantry located in the Moores Hill Baptist Church is now open 6-9 p.m. every second and fourth Tuesday of the month. Pantry will be closed if schools are closed due to weather. Please help support the pantry and your local business.
