Frank Charles “Frankie” Lanham

Frank Charles “Frankie” Lanham, 71 of Madison, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born April 24, 1942 in Corbin, Kentucky, the son of Lloyd Lanham and Tokie Hamblin Lanham. He was united in marriage on September 21, 1959 in Carrollton, KY to Sandra Faye Brown.

Survivors include two daughters, Sheryl L. Lanham and her partner, Nicole Medrano of Crescent City, CA and Shauna Skirvin (Rick) of Rexville; three sons, Kevin Lanham (Vicki) of Madison, Michael Lanham of Tallahassee, FL, William Todd Lanham and his companion Sherry Young of Madison; grandchildren, Troy Lanham (Deven), Justin Demaree, Corie Lanham (Angie), Chris Butler (Sam), Derek Butler, Tyler Lanham, Brandy Douglas (Ryan) and Kassie Lanham; great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Shelby, Bristol, Dalton, Chase, Sierra, Jayden, Jackson and Sophia; brother, Walter Lanham (Evelyn) of Madison; four sisters, Helen Perry of Adrian, MI, Ruby Hartman of Milton, KY, Mary Fosteen Payne of Lexington, Eula Flynn of Cincinnati, OH; his brother by choice not thru God’s hand, Steve Hackney of Plainfield; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Tokie Hamblin Lanham; his wife of 54 years, Sandra Faye Brown Lanham, who died June 2, 2013; his sister, Avaleen Wooten; his brothers, Alonzo Lanham, Elbert “Eb” Lanham and Delbert Lanham.
Frankie grew up in the Manville area and had resided in Rexville community the past 48 years. He was employed as a journeyman with the International Association of Bridge Structural Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers Union Local 22 in Indianapolis, retiring after 34 1/2 years of service.

Frankie had farmed most of his life and after retirement he enjoyed welding. He enjoyed gardening, flowers, his tomato plants, working in his garage, fishing, hunting, hard work and watching NASCAR. He had been baptized at the age of eight and was strong in his faith.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 5, at 1 p.m. at the Lanham family home, 4741 W. County Road, 925 South Madison, Indiana (near Rexville), with Pastor Ed Roberts officiating. Visitation will also be Saturday, from 11 a.m. until time of services at the home.

A celebration of life will follow the funeral ceremony at the family’s home. Memorials may be given to the Jefferson County Animal Shelter or American Cancer Society, contribution cards are available at the funeral home.

Mary Ellen Osborne

Mary Ellen Osborne, 87 of Marion, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013. She was born September 11, 1926 to Nathaniel and Mary Adams Grubbs, the fifth of nine children. She married Geoffrey A. Osborne on December 24, 1949 and he preceded her in death on April 16, 1989.

Mary had worked at Arvin Industries, but her main jobs were being a homemaker and pastor’s wife. She was a member of the Seymour Wesleyan Church. Sewing, reading, singing, playing the piano and especially being with her family were the things she loved in life.

Survivors include her son, Timothy (Jacquey) Osborne of Delaware; daughters, Ruth (Sam) Webb of Fairmount, Faith Osborne of Seymour; daughter-in-law, Bev Osborne of Seymour; sister, Betty Jean Grubbs (Richard) Stanifer of Indianapolis; brothers, Calvin Grubbs of Acworth, GA and Leo (Faye) Grubbs of Franklin; four grandchildren, Bradley Osborne of Lafayette, Lori (Jamie) Spaulding of Deatsville, AL, Kaysha (Todd) Williams of Versailles and Holly Webb of Fairmount; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Albert Grubbs; sisters, Marjorie Clements, Dorothy Clements, Lillie Marie Hunter; and her son, Rodney Osborne.

Funeral services will be held all in one day, Tuesday, October 1 at Neal’s Funeral Home, Osgood. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:30 a.m. with funeral services immediately following. Burial will be in the Flatrock Cemetery, Osgood.

Terry Lee Holt

Terry Lee Holt, 57 of Madison, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 1, at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, Madison, with burial in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, near Madison. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Jefferson County Animal Shelter. Daniel X. Stoltzfus, Jr.

Daniel X. Stoltzfus, Jr., 18 of Versailles, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Versailles, from injuries sustained from a traffic accident. He was born April 2, 1995 in Chester County, Pennsylvania, the son of Daniel X., Sr. and Emma (Fisher) Stoltzfus.
Survivors include his parents of Versailles; three brothers, Sam (Rachel) Stoltzfus of Lancaster County, PA, Ivan Stoltzfus of Versailles, and Benuel Stolzfus of Lancaster County, PA; five sisters, Sarah (Leon) Glick of Winchester, TN, Naomi (David) Kanagy of Rockville, Lydia Stoltzfus of Lancaster County, PA, Marian Stoltzfus of Versailles, Mamie Stoltzfus of Versailles; grandmother, Lydia Stoltzfus of Lancaster County, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Daniel L. Stoltzfus; and maternal grandparents, Samuel and Rebecca Fisher.
Daniel was raised in Christian County, Kentucky, where he attended school. He owned and operated Cedar Valley Horseshoeing as a horse trainer and horseshoer. He resided the past 4 1/2 years in Versailles, with his family. Daniel was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 28 at New Marion Sales, Holton. Burial was in the Ridge View Cemetery Old Order Amish in Rexville.

Jeffrey Lynn Huber

Jeffrey Lynn Huber, 58, of Aurora, formerly a long-time resident of Dillsboro, passed away Friday, September 27, 2013 at his home. He was born February 16, 1955 in Batesville, the son of Charles Huber and Virginia Stegemiller Huber.

Jeffrey graduated from Dillsboro High School in 1973 and enjoyed mowing lawns for friends and neighbors. He enjoyed watching sports on TV.

Survivors include parents, Charles and Virginia Huber of Aurora; brother, Mark Huber of Aurora; two sisters, Terra (David) Jones of Milan and Kelly (Dan) Williams of Dillsboro; three nieces, Amanda Huber of Chicago, Kristen Miller and Emily Jones of Dillsboro. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Karen Huber.

Private funeral services were held Monday, September 30 at DeVries Funeral Home, Dillsboro. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery. Memorials may be given to his family.
