Rose M. Bulick

Rose M. Bulick, 82, of Sunman, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born February 23, 1931 in St. Pius the daughter of Henry and Laura Stahle Billman. Her husband, John Bulick, preceded her in death on November 2, 1994.

Rose was a farmer’s wife and homemaker. She was a member of the St. Pius Altar Society and St. Pius Catholic Church. Rose enjoyed playing bingo and being outdoors. She was also known for her beautiful handmade quilts.

Those left to honor Rose’s memory include her daughters, Debra (Andrew) Johnson, Connie (Ken) Bradley) and Tina Pevlor, all of Sunman; seven grandchildren, Chad Bradley, Andy Johnson, Travis Johnson, Mandy Calvert, Lora Stoneking, Kayla Rutledge and David Johnson; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Lawrence (Pauline) Billman of Osgood, sister-in-law Bea McMillan of Milan, and brother-in-law Tom Bulick of Brownstown. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

A mass of Christian burial, officiated by Father Frank Eckstein, was held at St. Pius Catholic Church on Saturday, December 28. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Vernon McMurray

Vernon R. “Bobby” McMurray, 76 of Versailles passed away Friday, December 27, 2013 at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville. Bobby was born Friday August 20, 1937, in North Bend, OH the son of Elmer and Lillian (Crouch) McMurray.

Bobby loved telling jokes, going out to eat, shopping and drinking coffee. Bobby was always a happy guy, and he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Bobby is survived by brothers Melvin and Elmer Jr. McMurray of Ohio; sisters, Carolyn DeWitt of Versailles, Della McAdams of Moores Hill, Shirley Betler of FL, Mary Tiplett of FL, W.Va.

Funeral Services will be Friday January 3, 2014, 11 a.m. at Laws-Carr-Moore funeral home in Milan. Burial will be at Cravens Cemetery in Milan. Jane Ellen (Budke) Walker

Jane Ellen (Budke) Walker, 67, passed away at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis on Thursday, December 26, 2013. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 18, 1946 to Wilbur and Grace (Cornils) Budke.

Jane graduated from Cross Plains High School in 1964. She was a member of the Smyrna Lutheran church in Greensburg. She was a homemaker her whole life. She was an amazing cook, she loved going to fairs and parades, she enjoyed watching and attending sporting events, and she especially loved spending time with her granddaughter. Jane was married to George M. Walker on April 7, 1967, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Olean and he survives.

Jane is also survived by one son, Thomas G. (Jill) Walker, Fishers; one daughter, Teresa J. Walker, Greenwood; two brothers, James Budke, Ohio; Joel Budke, Evansville; and her granddaughter, Madison C. Walker. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, John Budke.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 30, at the funeral home with Doug Brougher officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Olean. Richmond Jack

Richmond, Jack, age 85 of Milan, died Tuesday, December 24, 2013. Services will be private. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
