The JCD Lady Eagles traveled to South Decatur to face a hot Lady Cougar squad. Winners of their last two games, the Lady Cougars played very aggressively early on, but the Eagles hit 5 treys in the opening quarter against their zone to earn a nine-point lead at 20-11 after one.

Both squads had important players in foul trouble in the first half. South’s Julia Miller and JCD’s Sydney Keene were saddled with fouls the entire game.

Both teams would have multiple players with 4 or 5 fouls. JCD, however, took advantage of the charity stripe appearances, hitting 24 of 37 shot.

South on the other hand, only connected on 12 of their 31 charity tosses.

As the game played out, JCD added to their lead at every stop, 36-21 at the half, 49-27 after three complete, then eventually winning 65-39 at the horns final sounding.

Coach Smith said, "It was a rough game and hard on both teams but our effort was good, even when our focus was off."
