The championship game slated for action on Monday evening, June 2, hosted by Madison Shawe High School favors the JCD Eagles, based on regular season competition. Opening Sectional #60 action pitted the 2014 ORVC Champion JCD Eagles against the Rising Sun Shiners. The Shiners had collected a pair of victories over JCD in regular season action.

With the marbles on the table, when it counted most, the Eagles managed to seal a 4-0 victory to continue, behind the pitching of Eagle senior Alex Schoettmer and solid JCD defense in the field. The second game on opening night found the South Decatur Cougars a 5-0 victor over the Oldenburg Academy Twisters. That resonated in a match up between the JCD Eagles and the SD Cougars to open second night Sectional #60 baseball action. Behind Eagle senior pitcher Dominique Norman, Jac-Cen-Del played their way to a 10-0 win. Again, solid defense on the field and strong batting prevailed for JCD, earning them the opportunity to play for the 2014 championship title. The second game played on night two of tournament action slated the hosting Madison Shawe Hilltoppers against the Hauser Jets. Hauser batted their way to a 17-1 victory over Shawe, earning them a spot on the championship contest ticket.

Weather permitting, the IHSAA Boys Baseball Sectional #60 Class 1A championship game was slated to be played at 7 p.m. on Monday evening, June 2.
