2014 Ripley County 4-H Fair
Festivities open with horse and pony competitions

The Ripley County 4-H Fair Horse and Pony Show competitions opened the week-long festivities with the show Sunday, July 20, beginning at 8 a.m. Sunday’s Ripley County 4-H Fair calender of horse and pony events included 51 classes, though all were not competed in.

The Grand Champion Mare was exhibited by Cheyenne Kern with Reserve Grand Champion Horse Mare exhibited by her sister Savannah Kern.

The Grand Champion Gelding “Barney” was exhibited by Sarah Hoseus, with the Reserve Grand Champion Horse Gelding exhibited by Savannah Kern.

This year’s Grand Champion Pony Mare “Annie” was exhibited by Kyla Jeffries with the Reserve Grand Champion Pony Gelding exhibited by Sierra Kern.

Earning Grand Champion honors in the Showmanship Class was Kendall Viel on “M.C. Just Said ’n Dun.” The Grand Champion of the Horsemanship Class was Sarah Hoseus on “Barney.” Grand Champion of the Hunter Under Saddle Equitation was Jessie Minneman on “Kobe – I’m a Chocolate Jewel.”
