The Indiana High School Athletic Association, Inc. announced this year’s group of 13 student athletes who will be honored on April 16, as a 2015 C. Eugene Cato Memorial Scholarship Award recipient, which includes local Milan Lady Indians senior athlete Isabelle Ortt.

A three-sport athlete at Milan High School, she is the daughter of Dennis Ortt and is ranked at the top of her graduating class of 100 students with a GPA of 4.22. She has participated in cross country, swimming and tennis, earning eight varsity letters along with several awards and honors. A multi-tasker, she has not only shined in the classroom and as an athlete, but is also involved with other school organizations including serving as Secretary of the National Honor Society, treasurer of the class club and senior drum major of Milan’s marching band.

To reward the efforts of Indiana’s complete student-athletes, Methodist Sports Medicine, Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Fever, Indiana Pacers, Sport Graphics, Inc. and WTHR-13 have partnered with the IHSAA to sponsor the program. These well-rounded, positive role models have demonstrated excellence in academics, school and community involvement, character, sportsmanship and citizenship. Each named individual will receive a $2,500 scholarship for their prep accomplishments and be recognized on Thursday, April 16, at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in downtown Indianapolis as part of the Brady Sports Achievement Awards established by Methodist Sports Medicine.
