Smiling faces abound among coach and fans with the onset action of the 2013-14 Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagle varsity squad with back-to-back victories already under their belts.

The Lady Eagle on-the-road season opener resulted in a 26 point, 57-31 routing of the hosting Rising Sun Lady Shiners on Friday evening, Nov. 15, before resonating into 31 point, 68-37 home victory over the rival South Ripley Lady Raiders on Saturday, Nov. 16.
Total domination over both opponents left the anticipation of a fun season for the Lady Eagles; however, this is just November and every opponent is a new challenge to be mastered Speed, depth and shot selection should make this unit one tough cookie to crack for the remainder of the season.

Already with victorious back-to-back opening season games, new milestones have been reached by the team, as they merited a 500th lifetime Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagle varsity win with the win over South Ripley. This allowed them to reclaim possession of the coveted Ripley Publishing Co. Inc. traveling Pride Trophy.

With the absence of head coach Brian Samples and the two key senior players Allie Linkmeyer and Rachel Hensly via graduation, new head coach Kevin Mack and team have much to work on; however, one doesn’t want to put a whole lot of emphasis on this early season Lady Raider onset with a loss to Lawrenceburg Lady Tigers and the JCD Lady Eagles with nearly four months of practices and playing before sectionals.
