Annual Ripley Co. Basketball Tourney draw meeting is held at Cricket Ridge

Ripley County HS coaches, ADs and principals along with local media representatives gathered at Batesville's Cricket Ridge Golf Course Restaurant on Wednesday, December 4, for the annual RCB tournament draw.

Host Batesville Athletic Director Mark Ferguson welcomed those in attendance before Batesville HS principal offered a blessing for the meal and meeting.

Following lunch, business at hand was the pairings draw, resulting in competition for this year's tournaments being Batesville vs. Milan in opening games and Jac-Cen-Del vs. South Ripley in game two action.

On Tuesday, Jan. 7, girls varsity action at Jac-Cen-Del High School finds the 6 p.m. contest between Batesville and Milan, followed by game two where JCD will battle South Ripley.

On Friday, Jan. 10, girls varsity action at JCDHS opens at 6 p.m. with a consolation game, followed by the girls championship game.

On Wednesday, Jan. 8, boys varsity action at Batesville High School finds the 6 p.m. contest between Batesville and Milan, followed by game two where JCD will battle South Ripley.

On Thursday, Jan. 9, boys junior varsity action between Batesville and Milan opens at Batesville HS at 6 p.m. with JCD and SR meeting in game two. Simultaneously, girls junior varsity action between Batesville and Milan opens at Milan HS at 6 p.m. with JCD and SR meeting in game two.

On Saturday Jan. 11, at BHS, the girls junior varsity championship game will tip off at 10 a.m. with the boys junior varsity championship to follow.

On Saturday, Jan. 11, boys varsity action at Batesville HS opens at 6 p.m. with a consolation game. The introduction of the 2014 Ripley County Basketball Hall of Fame Inductee Class will be prior to the boys varsity championship game.

The 2014 Ripley County Basketball Hall of Fame committee inductee class selected members include: David Bradshaw, Thomas Buck, Randy Combs, Donald Freyer, Scott Holdsworth, Christina Kappes Hoff, and Rick Thola; Meritorious Service Award - Roberta Brandes.

Re-scheduling of the Saturday, December 14, slated boys freshman tournament action at South Ripley HS forthcoming. Batesville vs. Milan, followed by JCD vs. SR and freshman championship to follow.
