The JCD Eagles vs. Rising Sun Shiners game May 21 gave way to rain, lightning and storms; however, intercession did not occur before veteran varsity JCD Eagles Head Coach David Bradshaw had an opportunity to show individual recognition to his four senior players of the 2014 season.

Senior players included Trey Bradshaw, Bradley Davis, Dominique Norman, and Alex Schoettmer. Only minimal innings were able to be played before lightning made its appearance across the sky forcing umpires and JCD staff to make the decision to call the game.

The shortened outing between the hosting Jac-Cen-Del Eagles and the visiting Rising Sun Shiners was a mere prelude to opening night IHSAA Boys Baseball Sectional action between the two teams in the Madison Shawe High School hosted Sectional #60.

The JCD/RS game is slated for an opening pitch at 5 p.m. on May 28. A second game follows at 7 p.m. Both 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. games continue on May 29 with the championship slated for 5 p.m. opening pitch on June 2.

Members of the team in the above slideshow photo include: front from left Tyler Huff, (10), senior Dominique Norman (14), Allen Troy (2), Blake Straub (3), Ethan Adams (1), senior Bradley Davis (11), Chris Stephens (7) and Rueben Benham (9). Standing in Row 2: Assistant Coach Matt White (24), Riley Thomas (4), senior Trey Brown (8), senior Alex Schoettmer (19), Keith Simon (20), Maverick Dwenger (22), Allen Hooton (12), Assistant Coach Anthony Moorman (16) and Jac-Cen-Del Eagle Head Coach David Bradshaw (21). Unavailable for photo was Assistant Coach Daniel Leonetti.
