Golfer Lucas Williams ends his 2014 extended season

Lucas Williams expression dictates that of a true sportsman, “Perhaps this wasn’t the day, but I will be back.”

Advancing individually without a team as the first place finisher from the Greensburg Country Club Golf Course hosted 2014 IHSAA Boys Golf Sectional was Jac-Cen-Del Eagle Lucas Williams. During his IHSAA Regional competition at the Henryville, Crown Pointe Golf Course, hosted by Providence HS on Friday, June 13, Lucas found his season abruptly ended; however, as his mother Jennifer Schornick Williams related, “Lucas’ game was going well until the 16th hole, where extra shots took a toll on hopes of advancing. Williams ended his day with a respectable 82, but it simply wasn't enough to advance on the tournament ladder this day.

A very positive season for the young Eagle golfer found him a medalist in many regular JCD slated season matches, and his positive dedicated attitude toward the game leaves little doubt he will be a contender to be reckoned with for some years to come, including possibly an opportunity to use his mastery at the college level.
We applaud young Williams on his drive and endurance and wish nothing short of the best for him in his future endeavors, both off and on the course.

A special thanks to Jennifer Schornick Williams for the updates as the JCD regular golfing season progressed. Her reports included other teams’ scores and individual scores as well as her son Lucas and JCD.
