Jac-Cen-Del Eagles prevail over Hauser 3-0, advancing to Morristown Regional

The route to a championship for the Jac-Cen-Del Eagles included an opening game night, 4-0 victory secured by the pitching of senior Alex Schoettmer. The second game for the Eagles was secured at the hand of senior pitcher Dominique Norman, where they dominated for a shortened game by the 10 Run Rule at 10-0.

Senior Eagle Schoettmer drew the mound duties for Coach David Bradshaw in securing the third and final win for the championship as JCD’s team (visitors on the scoreboard) battled to the 3-0 title over the Hauser Jets—the designated home team—in a full seven innings on Monday evening, June 2.

Other games of the tournament found the South Decatur Cougar’s a 5-0 victor over the Oldenburg Academy Twisters and Hauser Jets the 17-1 victor over Madison Shawe’s Hilltoppers.

Regional competition finds Jac-Cen-Del traveling to Morristown High School where they will face Indianapolis Lutheran on Saturday, June 7. Four teams are to compete early with winners to square off at 7 p.m.

Jac-Cen-Del will play at 10 a.m. with the championship game opening pitch slated for 7 p.m. The IHSAA Class 1A JCD Eagle Boys Baseball Regional rival is Indianapolis Lutheran.

The Ind. Luth. procession to a 2014 Sectional #59 championship title included a three-game journey of which their victory march included an opening 30-1 win over Baptist Academy, a 3-0 second round win over hosting Morristown, and a Sectional #59 championship claiming 21-0 elimination of the runner-up Waldron Mohawks.
