Tennis Conference Tourney Champs

Milan Indians Boys Tennis team defended their 2013 Southern Indiana Tennis Conference Tournament Championship title Saturday, Sept. 13, and once again came out champions. The Southwestern Hanover High School hosted event was played at Hanover College Tennis Complex.

Included among the 2014 Milan Indian Southern Indiana Tennis Conference Tournament champions pictured from left are: volunteer assistant tennis coach Brad Goldsberry, senior Travis Butte, senior Paul Hawk, senior Luke Rehn, junior Josh Bixler, senior Sam Rehn, senior Dean Elrod, senior Eli Schmitt and Milan Indian Head Tennis Coach Zach Wade.


The Indians opened with a tough 3-2 win vs. Indiana Christian Academy. Winners were: #2 singles Luke Rehn, #1 doubles Travis Butte/Sam Rehn and #2 doubles Paul Hawk/Josh Bixler. Advancing to the finals the Indians beat Southwestern Hanover 4-1.

Tourney final’s winners included – #1 singles Dean Elrod, #2 singles Luke Rehn, #1 doubles Travis Butte/Sam Rehn and #2 doubles Paul Hawk/Josh Bixler. Milan Indians earning All-Conference Honors were Dean Elrod, Luke Rehn, Travis Butte, Sam Rehn, Paul Hawk and Josh Bixler.
