Coach Perry Nash’s Eagles earned champion designation of the Holiday Invitational Tournament on Tuesday night, December 30, at Edinburgh High School where they defeated Trinity Lutheran Cougars for a 3-0, two-day tournament run by a final count of 59-52. The Eagles enjoyed a five point edge after the first period’s horn but found themselves back at ground zero at the halftime break, knotted at 26. As third quarter action played out, JCD had earned a four point edge at 41-37, and collected championship honors at the end of regulation action with a seven point margin, 59-52. Jac-Cen-Del had earned their evening championship title contention match during play on Monday, December 29, after defeating Medora 56-45 and Indianapolis Lutheran 56-46.
