Ethel Stegemoller

Ethel F. Stegemoller, 98, Versailles, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015 at her home. She was born in Cincinnati on October 15, 1917, the daughter of Henry and Mary Neihouse Busch. She was married to Fred Ensminger who was killed in action during WWII. She then married Henry Stegemoller on October 22, 1948 and he preceded her in death on January 1, 1986.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ensminger of Versailles; two sons, Alan Stegemoller of North Venice, Florida, and Jerry (Joye) Stegemoller of Cincinnati; two grandchildren, Jason Stegemoller of Cincinnati and Jenny (Brian) Riddle also of Cincinnati; two great grandchildren, Jonathan and Zachary Riddle. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother Walter Busch, and her sister Esther Dean.

Mrs. Stegemoller was a 1935 graduate of Osgood High School. In her younger years Ethel had worked for the Union Central Insurance Company in Cincinnati and after marriage and the arrival of her children she became a full time homemaker. She was known in Versailles for her beautiful roses and enjoyed gardening and playing cards. She was also an avid bowler.

Ethel was a member of the Versailles American Legion Auxiliary and also the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Olean where she participated in the Ladies Aid.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 31 at 2 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Olean with Pastor Curtis Black officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of services at the church. Memorials may be given to the St. Paul Cemetery or Rescue 69 in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.


Charles W. Denny

Charles W. Denny, 85, Cross Plains, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015. Services are pending at Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles.


Jeffery Earl Whitson

Jeffery Earl Whitson, 67, Indianapolis, formerly of Madison, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, Madison, with visitation from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Jeffery Whitson Memorial Fund, contribution cards are available at the funeral home. Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the family via the funeral home’s website at www.morgan-nay.com.
