Glenn Crocker inducted into Indiana High School
Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame

Gary Franklin
SPORTS EDITOR

Congratulations to IHSAA wrestling official Glenn Crocker, on being inducted into the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame. He has been a contributor to the sport and has officiated for over 30 years. At 69, Crocker has quite a resume. After graduating from William Henry Harrison High School in Ohio as a member of the Class of ’64, he graduated from Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky in 1968, where he played varsity tennis for four years, while acquiring a bachelor’s degree in education. In 1974, he obtained his master’s degree from Xavier University. In June 2012, some 43 years later, he retired from a well-served career in education, coaching and administration.

I met Crocker through his work as Lawrenceburg High School Athletic Director and got to know him at Milan and surrounding area wrestling meets where he officiated. On a personal note, I have found Crocker along with retired Milan Indians educator and wrestling Coach Roy Adams to be two of the most respected men I know. Neither have been too busy nor too occupied with busy schedules to say hello or answer questions. My hat is off to both and especially to Glenn Crocker at this time for a much deserved acknowledgment.

Wrestling official Glenn Crocker gets down on the mat during the process of officiating one of Milan Indians career wrestler Trevor Lonneman’s match competitions. Lonneman was short seasoned in this [his senior] year while carrying an awesome record due to an auto accident that cut his aspirations short, although leaving him available to support his teammates around the square circle. Super Indians wrestling career Trevor and congratulations Glenn Crocker!

Coach Adams is already an inducted member of the hall of fame from a few years back. Among Crocker’s coaching activities were stints at Harrison and East Central, along with 30 years with football at Lawrenceburg of which 17 were as LHS Head Football Coach. Other coaching experiences included wrestling for six years, girls tennis five years and girls basketball four years. Crocker and wife Diane have five children: Andy, Holly, Clint, Josh and Kacie.
