Marilyn L. Browning


Marilyn L. Browning, 79, of Versailles, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at the home of her daughter in Russell Springs, Kentucky. She was born at Milan on January 6, 1936, the daughter of Edward and Marie Ebel Meisberger.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol (Carson) Lawless, and Susan Browning both of Russell Springs; two grandchildren, Cristal (Terry) McClister and Justin Sullivan both of Russell Springs; two great grandchildren, Haley Cook and Ethan McClister; two brothers, John Meisberger of Versailles and Robert Meisberger of Osgood; two sisters, Sharon (Bill) Eckstein of Indianapolis, and Nancy Watson of Greenwood; nine nieces and six nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters Doris Meisberger, Janet Cooper, and Mary Ann Naugle.

Mrs. Browning was a 1953 graduate of New Marion High School. She retired after 30 years with the Jefferson Proving Ground and had also worked seasonally at the Versailles State Park. Marilyn was a lifelong member of the St. Magdalene Catholic Church in New Marion, a member of the Ripley County Red Hatters, and also belonged to the former Versailles Vigorous Volksmarchers.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, June 22 at St. John Catholic Church in Osgood with Father John Geis officiating. Burial was in the St. Magdalene Cemetery at Madison. Memorials may be given to the St. John Catholic Church in care of Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles.


Dolf Martin Droge

Dolf Martin Droge, 86, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Liberty Shores Assisted Living in Poulsbo, WA. Dolf was born in Milan in 1928. A funeral at Arlington National Cemetery near Washington, DC will be scheduled in autumn 2015 (date TBD). Arnold E. Droge

Arnold E. Droge of Bainbridge Island passed away on May 5, 2015. He was 84. Arnie was born April 4, 1931 in Milan. Per his request there will be a small family service. Cards and letters can be sent to PO Box 32, Vashon, WA 98070

Emma Jean (Stephens) Wilson

Emma Jean (Stephens) Wilson, age 88, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015, in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born in Osgood on April 17, 1927. She grew up in Osgood and graduated from Osgood High School in 1945.

The daughter of Earl and Faye (Harris) Stephens, she leaves two sisters: Mary Jo Michael of Burlington, Ky, and Pat Meyers of Osgood, and one brother: Mike Stephens of Osgood, to mourn her. She also leaves seven children: Sheryl Willis, Kathy Jo Hadler, Marsha A. Burton, Pamela Sue Willis, Randy E. Ricketts, Connie Lyn Crader, and Gerald A. Wilson, 18 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 12, at Phoenix Memorial Park, Phoenix, Arizona.


Beverly Honeycutt Schmidt

Beverly Honeycutt Schmidt, 52, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. Friends may visit with Beverly’s family on Tuesday, June 23 from 4-8 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman. Funeral services are Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
