2015-16 Girls Class 1A State Basketball Champion Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagles rings presented by Napoleon State Bank

Gary Franklin
SPORTS EDITOR

At the Jac-Cen-Del vs. Batesville boys varsity basketball game Mark Comer, president of the Napoleon State Bank, presented the 2015-16 IHSAA Class 1-A State Basketball Champion Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagles with state champion rings, which were purchased by the bank. Coach Scott Smith and his assistant coaches, players, and managers were introduced and called to the Jac-Cen-Del High School center court for the presentation between the boys JV and varsity games. Cheerleaders and others were presented rings, as well, before the large crowd. A banner denoting the team’s accomplishment was unfurled on the east wall of the gym. Even though the Jac-Cen-Del boys lost both games to Batesville, the scores could not dampen the joy of last year’s champions receiving their rings. Gary Franklin
SPORTS EDITOR

In the South Ripley Raider home basketball game action against the visiting Rising Sun Shiners on November 26, the name Turner rose to the top for both squads as Turner boys … “turned her up.” South Ripley players Charlie Turner and Derek Turner led their team with 18 and 15 points respectively as did Rising Sun Shiner Brent Turner with 19. Nice job fellas! To read individual stats see page 5 of The Versailles Republican.
