2015-16 ORVC Winter Sports athletes honored

The ORVC (Ohio River Valley Conference) Awards Banquet presentation was held at The Pines Restaurant in Madison, which included a buffet meal and the presentation of individual awards to selected athletes on the boys and girls basketball teams

Rising Sun Principal Noel Bostic. On Wednesday evening at the Pine Restaurant in Madison, Bostic delivered a cordial welcome to honored athletes, coaches, other school personnel and media representatives attending the athletic banquet. See more photos on page 5 of the Osgood Journal.
The responsibilities of the hosted event rotates between the seven school membership of Jac-Cen-Del, Milan, South Ripley, Switzerland County, Rising Sun, Southwestern Hanover, and Madison Shawe. Rising Sun High School was this season’s designee, and Principal Noel Bostic opened the event with a welcome, thank-you for a positive season, and a blessing for the meal. Following the meal, presentation of ribbons, medals and certificates were made to the honorees. Sadly missed at the event was ORVC Girls Basketball Championship Title Coach of the Year and 2015/16 IHSAA Class 1A State Championship Title Girls Basketball Head Coach Scott Smith of Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagles, due to illness.
