Carla Ann Kohlmeier

Carla Ann Kohlmeier, 81, of Milan, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016, at Ripley Crossing in Milan. Carla was born Thursday July 19, 1934 at Milan, the daughter of Harry and Wilda (Pickett) Schornick. She married Jon Kohlmeier August 29, 1953 and he preceded her in death October 10, 1996.

Carla and her late husband owned and operated the Milan Health and Hospitality Center where Carla also served as a dietitian. She was a member of the Milan United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and Milan American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed being a Sunday school teacher, working with young children at the Good News Club at the elementary school, working in her yard, sewing, dining out with her family and friends, and playing cards with her friends. She was an avid fan and a longtime season ticket holder for IU basketball and football, and loved staying at her condo in Siesta Key, Florida.

Carla is survived by sons: Kim C. Kohlmeier of Bloomington, J. Scott (Nancy) Kohlmeier of Milan, and William Chris (Pamela) Kohlmeier of Milan; four grandchildren: Gregory, Ross, Bradley, Raechel Kohlmeier; two step grandchildren: Roger and Angela Swinney; three step great-grandchildren: Chase Samples, Jovie Swinney and Hunter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jon Kohlmeier; brother: Don Schornick; and sister: Darla Cardinal.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 27 at Milan United Methodist Church with Pastor Pam Wooden officiating. Burial will follow in New Craven Cemetery south of Milan. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. also at the church. Memorials may be made to Milan United Methodist Church, Milan Fire Department or Milan High School Scholarship Fund.

Georgia DeLynn (Pope) Goodpaster

Georgia DeLynn (Pope) Goodpaster, 57, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 in Cosby, TN. She was born in Cynthiana, KY, on January 3, 1959. Her family moved to Indiana in 1965.

Georgia met her husband, Michael (Goodie) Goodpaster and were married in May of 1977 in Greensburg. They had one daughter, April Goodpaster, and she survives. Georgia and Michael moved to Tennessee in 1999.

Survivors also include her parents, George and Doris Pope; sister Kim Pope; brother Woody (wife, Kristina) Pope; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Michael (Goodie) Goodpaster.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Newpoint Christian Church on Saturday, April 30 at 10 a.m., with services at 12 noon. Mark Vice will officiate.


Paul Thomas Hurst

Paul Thomas Hurst, 63, of Jeffersonville, passed away at 7:15 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2016 at the Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville. He was born near Holton on March 15, 1953, the son of John and Elizabeth Wells Hurst.

Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Hurst of North Vernon; daughter Emily Hurst of Los Angeles, California; son, Michael (Christy) Hurst of Deputy; three grandchildren; one brother, Kelly (Terry) Hurst of Holton; one sister, Carrie (Don) Birge of North Vernon; sister-in-law, Renee Hurst of Greensburg. He was preceded in death by his father, an infant daughter and an infant son, and his brother Garrett.

Mr. Hurst worked at several occupations throughout his younger years and will be remembered by the many he has encountered through the years. He had a strong faith and belief in God and never felt alone with the love of God by his side. Spending time with his family and friends was very important to him and one of his favorite hobbies was writing country music songs, playing the guitar, and singing.

Paul’s wishes were to be cremated and a private burial will be held at a later date at the Grandview Memorial Garden near Madison with the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home of Versailles in charge of arrangements.

Ronald L. Mounts, 49, of Sunman, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, April 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, Sunman. Services, officiated by Pastor Rick Mosley, will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family. Allen M. Beck, 92, of Batesville, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016. Visitation is Wednesday, April 27 from 5-8 p.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville.
